  3. as title says i,m going for a drive over the cat and fiddle any one up for it ? Dan The cat and fiddle this morning best run i,ve had over there warm sunny and no tin tops in the way or old bill ruining the fun. I like the way bikes think they can out brake and corner a 7.... especialy when a former bike nutter is at the wheel.
  4. anytime the sun is out and the car is working itching to do the cat and fiddle might get up early tomorrow and go matlock bakewell buxton cat and fiddle and back to matlock for food. leaving matlock bath about 8ish Dan
  5. Went for a drive with colin (solcol) yesterday me in my late 2b+ wishbone and him in a sliding pillar highlighted the differences that people talk about with the front end mine was more stable and quicker in the bends. Also showed how good bike carbs were he has twin 40 delortos verses my blade carbs both set up on dyno my one did seem quicker certainly ticked over smoother. anyone thinking of bike carbs do it there great! wish i,d done it sooner It was a really fun drive out 54 miles and both cars made it home without breaking down. anyone else in derbyshire want to join us next time ? might start our own little meet if there is enough of us anyone up for that ? Just a snip of the drive on youtube. Dan
  6. Has anyone any ideas on where i could get a roll cage made and fitted on my 2B. in the derbyshire/ notts area i just don,t fancy doing a hammond if it did roll i fear my head would be ripped off... and if some one hit me in the side ( nearly happened the other day silly old woman in a micra on a mini roundabout) i fear it would prob come inside the car due to height of sides. Gave up bikes to be safer but i,m having more near missis in this than i ever did in 20yrs of bikes not driving like a loon either. Dan
  7. what about my twins see garage a lot lower than the originals way more lighting power Dan
  8. Win some lose some but always decide your max price and never go beyond ! i,ve sold 2 bikes and trailer in the last year and always got more than i wanted just use your mates to bid it up to what you want there is always someone out there that carried away at the last min
  9. if the weather holds thinking of a blast from matlock over the cat and fiddle early sunday24th morning. Anyone up for it ? Dan
  10. I did matlock to Cannes in one go 21hrs just stopping for the ferry and fuel which was plenty in a 3.3L voyager don,t know if i,d fancy doing it my hood don,t know if it would get there or if i could walk afterwards if it did ! 3month later i did the same in reverse but had a slight problem my fuel line had been damaged by the nice french people who drained my fuel tank after they impounded my car i left it there one weekend when i flew back they decided to do some work on the port right where my car was parked so towed it i only realized there was a problem about 100miles in when my tank was empty should have gone 350miles what really "upset" me i,d left the keys with a friend on the boat i was working on so if they'd asked it could have been moved. Good job i had all my tools with me so i could fix it there and then. Dan

    Bike Carbs

If the carbs are fueling right you will need it on the colder days mine will start but ticks over very low and spits back if you try to rev it cold without choke. with choke its perfect i take it off after the engine warms up a bit Dan
  14. i,ve been running my tuned 2.0L pinto for a while now and have never had a stat in, it runs at approx 70deg when moving then increases in traffic but never overheats. Ive just put a stat in as the engine should in theory be running about 85deg. Took it for a thrash and it goes better and the temp just stays 85 to 90 as most normal cars do. Just wondering if the majority use a stat or not ? Dan
  15. Mine states aug 2006 as date of 1st reg (year completed) even though its on an 83 A plate special notes state 1, non tranferable reg mark and 2 assembled from parts some or all of which were not new. Ive just noticed mine is down as a four seater ??

  19. I was welding on old mini once had the back right up in the air welding away when a nice little hot ball of metal landed on my quilted shirt burnt through that then my t shirt and landed right on the tip of nipple at which point i jumped up and head butted the sub frame ! don't know what hurt more only recently i was putting my torque wrench away decide to pull the extention bar off by pulling it away from me whilst i was holding the wrench half way down when it came off the wrench promptly smacked me in the mouth and split my lip..... my missis laughed rather a lot cause it swelled up so much i could'nt speak properly... Then the other day i had so meny cuts on my arms from scratching on bits of zip ties and metal someone asked me if i was self harming... Dan
