    Sva Report

Good luck on the retest, sounds like most things are easy to fix. As for the mirrors i have just bought a pair from Tiger racing and they are excellent, fully e marked and a great field of vision, I just wish i bought them before my test instead of the kit supplied ones i used. Could the speedo magnets not of come off the propshaft? if so would it not be better fixing them to a drive shaft Hope you get a quick re-test before this weather leaves us. HTH Mitch

    Rev Counter

yes they check the revs on the cars rev counter IF fitted, or they have there own equipment. So you could set youre needle slightly high so it reads higher than actual, but freds question was weather he needed one or not as he's doesnt work. Mitch

    Rev Counter

Hi Fred no you dont need rev counter. My fuel gauge as never worked correctly (capri clocks- sierra sender) but i would get temp gauge working to make sure its running okay. HTH Mitch

    Indicators

Have recently developed a problem with my indicators, sometimes they work without problems But sometimes they play up, and if i switch the hazards on/off then indicate they work fine for the rest of the trip. Anyone got any ideas as to what up? Mitch
  10. Hi Paul You're rough build order seems about right, get it on all four wheels, then engine and box, brakes then onto electrics and get it up and running, You're model didnt have a build video (correct me if im wrong) but a "build" manual mabe RHE have some old copies they may lat you have. HTH Mitch ps there maybe a series7 going to Ireland in September you maybe able to see it. I will ask him and see where/when hes going. if you keep offering BB all the club will be over shortly.

    Good News/bad News!

Hi For my sva i went with M/cycle type indicators on, but extended them by 4"with a aliminium tube filled in at both ends. I then drilled and tapped a hole in either end and threaded the wire threw, then take a bolt and drill through it pass the wires threw this and tighten up on nose cone. After SVA remove extentions Mitch

    Good News/bad News!

was going to on the way back from my test, but bottled it. It would be quite easy to trace it to the test centre, and then back to the owner. but wether or not they could prosicute would be another matter Did however find a police check point just down the road from my house. You know the type 12 coppers, half the force vehicles pulling over cars at "random" (whist half the town is burgled) to check for faults. I actually went through twice and they did'nt bat an eyelid. Wanted to get stopped just for the looks on there faces when they sussed that i was legal. Mitch
  15. Hi Jon Check out the write up on NW hoods website about changing the seals in situ (in Build tips), I kow your's is the dohc but the principle is the same. Mitch Article about changing the Pinto valve seals

  17. Found this on e-bay. It could be interesting if used as a doner. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...&category=21654 Nowt todo with me....... Mitch
  18. Hi Bugsy If you are really that desparate to view the contents of the video's Send me a pm and you can borrow mine. (will have to retrive them from another builder first). I know you're building a super spec but some of the stuff will cross over. Mitch Blackburn.

    Series 3a

Sorry ian But if this is the 3a with 2.1 twin carbs, alloys and all the extras, that was sold this week in the north, then you should have waited, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I will give you a grand for the full kit so you can wait till RS is ready to relaunch the 2b kits at this years all inclusive price. DON'T BE DAFT you have got a VERY VERY good deal, get it built and jion us all at the shows. Mitch
  21. I Would put a extra piece of 6mm x 100mm flat bar across (underside) the width of the car and pick up the susspention mounts at either side just to be sure. if the floor doe'snt flex then all will be okay. Then use you're angle iron on top, and bolt through both. There as been an instance at a northen SVA lately were the examiner failed trickys suggested way, and suggested the only way it would pass was to crash test one!!!!!!. or to weld it to the chassi rails on the top of the tunnel???? After putting an extra brace right accross it passed by different examiner who thought the first examiner was being VERY VERY picky.
  22. What seats are you using? If RHSC recaros, then the bolt hole on the inside's can be used for the seatbelt mounting. This will depend on how much you remove from the bottom, let me know more and i will post some pics on how i did it. Mitch
  23. You could try http://www.lolocost.co.uk/ this is the other half of RHSC there is a parts list with prices but you will still have to phone the factory. HTH Mitch

  25. Hi Bugsy I see you are a Northener, That means you will get visit's from Uncle Jim and the rest of the NW clan. I hope you have a big kettle and plenty of cups for when we come and visit, and tell you which way it should have been done You're welcome to attend any shows were going to (check NWsite for details). We are happy for you to join in the merriments of the club, before during and certainly after building the Hood. If you become a member Tim (chairman) will send you a list of members in the area, and there are a few up here. If you want to have a look at a 2b give me a call and i will nip round with it, or you can call. Good luck with the build. Mitch Blackburn
