  1. Hi Simon How did the viewing go?
  2. Some visual checks will be in order. As far as I know the 2.0l pinto blocks will have a cast number on them begining with 20X, the 1.8 18X, the 1.6 16X (with X being a number). Find the cast number and you will know what block its got. PM will be sent also. Ozz
  3. Measure half way between the sides of the car and draw a centre line on a piece of masking tape down the tunnel to use as a reference point. Also with those 45's the engine is going in where it fits I don't think you'll have much choice in the matter. As far as prop in after engine and gearbox bear in mind your tunnel is far narrower than mine and Nick's. The distance between my diff and gearbox is 655 mm.

    Newark 2013

Great day at Newark!, Our pitch is now so well organised the occasional shower does not matter we just seamlessly move under the event shelter and back out again. Have a great evening and great day tomorrow.
  5. I can't see that they will pass on any more vibration than the GBS ones. As long as you keep them polished!

    Iva

I don't think you will qualify for the reduced retest fee after all this time so a fresh application will need to be made with full fee. I would think its a very different car now! aVIN changed so much on it
  7. Yes I did ! - thank you ( see the nice drive thread). I did watch 6 or so of your laps with someone else and was very impressed. If the ankle biter had had more patience I'd have been round the track with you like a shot. When I got back had a little play in mine and pushed it a little further in the corners than usual and car behaved very well. I think the suspension settings are ok for me at the moment. Andrew
  8. Saw it on track at blyton on Sunday it was easily the fastest car there and always with a passenger too.

    Nice Drive

Cracking car based weekend took off the windscreen went to GBS open day and got shown what a well sorted zero could do cheers john. GBS track day got shown what a well sorted zero could do in the track cheers Richard. Then an hour blasting round familar roads realising that my car is much better than I am! " Fun though
  10. for the perfect paint job ... don't pick it up before its dry!

  11. Are you starting with full choke? Been out in mine today and still needed full choke to start. Runs sweet after a minute on choke. (Zx6r carbs , 2 on sytec reg , Also 3 turns out on air screws) Ozz
  12. black vinyl wrap exaggerates every lump and bump thinking of using it to make some trousers

  13. Last year when the company A3 went for a service I got an A5 convertable as a courtessey car .. p***ed it down all day.

    Confused Dipsticks!

When I rolling roaded mine at Torque tune I asked him this very question and he said the dipstick would be right whatever you had done to the sump as long as the tube was the same .... so what Dan said.
  16. Looks good now we'll know where to q 4 buds
  17. Got my 2nd tax disc for the zero this morning expires end of November. Do you think I should keep it (the tax) that long in case donaldthomps gets a car on the road?
  18. I agree Bob I'm watching a few mini items on eBay Ozz
  19. I did another trial fit yesterday with an mdf dummy screen and when sat in normal driving position with harness on I can see both wing repeaters so visibility would pass cu regs in my professional opinion but only for me driving. I think the answer might be to render the car undriveable by anyone under 6 foot by removing my seat runners!
  20. Police officers rarely agree with me but Courts often do. I've got one too I'm going to try to make them swappable and use both depending on my mood which is why I don't want wipers in the way. Don't need MOT for a while and it would go with aero screen when it does. Biggest problem might be the accident scenario and the insurance company trying to void/avoid the insurance I'd not thought about that mmm.... Thanks guys Ozz
  21. Ignoring IVA (done that) and MOT (2 1/2 years away) are there any problems fitting a windscreen and not fitting wipers and washers? I am 6'4'' and will be looking over the top of the screen, (so weather gear is not and never will be an option ). Ozz
  22. I want a windscreen but don't like fitting it!

    Sierra Clocks Wiring

This page may help if you still have the sierra loom (it helped me when I did mine) http://nw.rhocar.org/colours%20sierra%20clocks.htm
  24. With the pinto being quite a tall engine there are not many places under a zero bonnet to place an expansion tank at the highest point in the system carefully planning and purchasing maybe required to get expansion tank system to work. My overflow bottle sits at the bottom of the car. The radiator cap is in the top hose which is the highest point so far I've always had coolant in the top hose. Apart from that you should run a tank.
  25. The radiator cap allows the expanded coolant out of the overflow into a bottle when contracts its sucked back I'll show you next time.
