    Pair Of Corbeau Seats

Been busy, sorry for the slow reply. Still got the seats, PM replied to. Steve
  3. Hi Dan, Mine's a Denso one off a small Suzuki something - a little 3 door hatchback thing, sorry can't remember what model. The alternator is the same size as the one CBS sell but it's mounting bracket is different. Body is about 4" diameter and 5" long. Cost me £10 from the scrappy - think CBS want about £100 for theirs but if you look on their website I think it shows a drawing with sizes on. Hope this helps, Steve

    Pair Of Corbeau Seats

I've still got the seats if anyone is interested. Please ignore the previous post - a week & several texts later I'm still waiting for a reply .................. Steve

    Won't Turn.....huff!

4.5V sound a tad low to me - I'd expect at least 9V, even with a stuck starter. Modern batteries do have a habit of working fine one day then dead the next. I'd go with Mike's suggestion and try a jump start from a known good battery. Steve

    2b Chasis

I'm 6'1" & have no problems with mine - like Peter2b I tuck my left foot under the clutch pedal on long runs. I'm not sure whats getting in the way of your legs, when I press the clutch to the floor my left leg is virtually straight, and with the pedal fully up my knee misses the wheel with enough room to get my hand in between. Is the problem with the position of your steering wheel ? Originally mine was quite close to the dash and when I'd got the seat in the right place for my legs I couldn't reach it !! With the seat forward to reach the wheel my knees were hitting it. I moved the steering wheel back (away from the dash) by a couple of inches and problem solved. ................. just wondering now .......... was the car was wrong or maybe I'm the wrong shape ??? Steve
  7. As above - standard discs & drums with original servo locked up far too easily on mine so I got rid of the servo ! I reckon that you've got something not working quite right if yours doesn't want to stop. Steve

    Exhaust Failure

Mine tends to come a tad loose on this joint & needs to be tightened once or twice a year, but it's never come anywhere near to parting company. Steve
  9. Hi, I thought the later "stretch" bolts for the pinto were something like 40Nm, then 70Nm then wait a bit and tighten another 90 deg Hope this helps, not confuses more !! Steve

    Pair Of Corbeau Seats

Hi Dave, Just realised how awkward they are to measure, but here goes .... The front of the seat is quite a bit wider than the back and is approximately 17" wide at the bottom, 18" wide at seat level. The widest part is the sides at about elbow level where they're 19.5" wide. Hope this makes sense. Cheers Steve.
  11. These seats were in my 2B when I bought it. They're fine if you're not too broad in the beam .... if you know what I mean. I swapped them for some without the sides on which we fit into much better. They're not in bad nick (the seats not our backsides) and don't have runners. I'm looking for £60 for the pair, collection only or possibly meet you somewhere - but I'm not going to try posting them!
  12. Ignore this one I'm having a bad computer day !!
  13. Hi Steve, Put me down for Sunday please, I don't think I'd be able to make it until later on Saturday, but Sunday I should be free all day. (If I'm not free I'll be cheap) Reg. No. is F543GNT Cheers, Steve (Foz)
  14. Hi Dan, Glad you're enjoying it but can't you find something wrong with it to make the rest of us feel better ? Just to let you know your diff is now in & working fine, despite one of my drive shafts falling apart when I took it out of the old one ! Steve
  15. Add me to the list :- Steve Foster, car 7 2B 2L Pinto, standard cam Front end brilliant on Old Timbo's wishbone conversion, shame about the back end !! Did manage to execute a very nice 360 with my mate sitting there as passenger when the grass got a bit too close to my sliding rear. Brilliant day once I'd got used to going round backwards - looking at my times I would probably have been better reversing round, at least the track would have looked right. Thanks again to John, Steve

    Wheel Sizes

I run my 2B on 205/50x15 but, like Dan says above, the biggest improvement I've made is the upgraded front wishbones. Steve

    Alternator

I've got one off a little Suzuki something on my 2B - had to make another bracket to fit it to the block but now it's well clear of the steering column. Steve
  19. Hi Dan, I'm interested in the diff 'cos mines starting to get a bit noisy. What sort of condition is it in ? Does it need any attention or could I bang it straight in ? Cheers, Steve
  20. Got my paperwork through today, getting excited now ! What time do the gates open or what time is everyone getting there ? Cheers, Steve

    Cholmondeley

I still haven't made my mind up, I did enjoy it last year, but not sure if I enjoyed it enough to go again. If I do it will just be for the day ......... probably the Sunday. Steve

    Gbs Open Day, 23rd July

With a bit of luck & a following breeze I'll be there in the 2b - any body know what this "GBS Sprint Series" is about ? Steve

    Fuel Gauge

Hi Ray, don't know which sender & gauge you're using but usually the sender is little more than a variable resistor to ground. The more fuel in the tank the lower the resistance (and lower voltage across it) thereby leaving more of the 12 volts battery voltage across the gauge. Hope this makes sense. When you say it's playing up what's it doing exactly ? If it's wandering about does it go higher than it should or lower ? Steve

    Clutch Failure

Have a look at the post "Melting Clutch Cable" in the engine section from a couple of day ago. Don't know if this is what's happened to yours but the answers might help. Steve
