  1. Bob you have to find a Fairy before considering those sort of lights. Hope you and Sylvia are well ?
  2. Should be there in TinTop with Dan too if all is OK. Cheers Steve
  3. Hi Dan, there is a Solvent that I bought from Screwfix that dissolves or softens Silicone I used it to remove a Number Plate on my wifes TinTop that I put on with Silicone as I do not like Drilling Holes in Metalwork. When we had to change the Plate I had the task of removing the Silcone Stuckon number plate. The Screwfix Stuff worked reasonably well but not instantaneous. Hope you solve the problem. Cheers Steve
  4. Hi my Car was built by GBS for the previous owner who I purchased it from S/H it is a 2b Superspec and they fitted Seats which the previous owner took out as he did not like them and fitted Leather Cobra's which are on Runners. Makes it a bit easier to get in and out and the Cobra's are very comfortable. Sadly its just something else for the MOT man to check that they slide properly and Lock into place. Would not like to have seats that were not adjustable. Good Luck. I think the Runners are from the Sierra Donor but not 100% sure.
  5. I spoke to Alex the Young lady who arranges the Show and she has confirmed we can have the Top bit of Field just inside the Gate same as last year. I am hoping to be able to visit as it is just down the Road from me.
  6. HOPEFULLY Dan and I will be there in the Hood providing weather is favourable. Look forward to seeing ALL. Steve
  7. Hi Alan, I own a SuperSpec wonderful car built by GBS for previous owner. Regards Steve
  8. Hi Everyone not been on in a while SORRY. Read through all the comments I have a " Spare Screen " that the previous owner of mine ordered when he had GBS build the car so hope that would be able to be used as TEMPLATE to produce new Screen ? It is located in my Loft somewhere Keep me posted and if needed as pattern I am sure I will be able to move it out of Loft Thank you Everyone
  9. CB750 Many thanks for your comment which is appreciated can you keep me posted on how you get on I live in Arley not too far to Tamworth perhaps we could see if they had an order for Two Screens what sort of price they could do ? Cheers. Steve.
  10. Hi All, I seem to remember Phil Shelton putting some useful comments on the Forum with regard to Shattering Windscreens which has worried me. I have looked at my Windscreen that is fitted to the Car it has a BS Kite Mark and the Numbers BS85715-1967 and PCG Glass etched on to the screen. Has anyone any idea if this Screen is of a suitable quality that will not suffer from Shattering and Splintering ? Thanks for any response. Steve.
  11. Not Me either Andy SORRY
  12. Hopefully will be at the BP Garage with just me see you there
  13. Hopefully should be there possibly with Car if weather permitting if not TinTop as putting the Roof / Hood on is a PAIN. Should have Dan with me too either way we will see you
  14. Sorry forgot to add since I sold it the car has been used and photographed for a book about Escorts.
  15. Yeah Andi could not agree more, great programme agree though with all the comments " Keep it as it was when it was built " Mine was still 100 percent original when I sold it a few years ago apart from the fact that I had the car " Ziebart Wax Protected " from the day I bought it from Adlards in Wimbledon via a friend who worked for Fords at South Ockendon where they were Finally assembled. Had the pleasure of going to visit the plant in 1974 on the day that mine was being assembled and talk to the Guys who where putting it together. The Guy I sold it to agreed as part of the Sale that he keep me in touch with its life, it Won Mexico of the Year last year from the AVOOC meet. It is still all original and now has 32000 on the clock about 24000 when I sold it to him. He says he gets tired of telling people that the Paintwork and Interior are all original as no one seems to believe him. When he moved house I was sent a picture not of the new house but of the interior of the new garage with the car in it and without so I could see the flooring that had been laid. The reason I bought the 2B was that I had wanted a Lotus 7 when I was about 17 or 18 but finances and insurance ruled it out I also missed having a car that had some performance and a bit of character. My father had worked on a Lotus 7 which the owner had had a Coventry Climax engine fitted that he had obtained that was previously used for a Water Power Pump / Fire Tender. The Climax engine was too tall for the engine compartment and my Dad modified the bonnet with a Power Hump to enable the bonnet to be fitted without a problem. HAPPY DAYS..
  16. Rich, so sorry have Friends arriving from Berlin to stay with us for a week arriving at Birmingham Airport on 13/04/2014 hope all goes well for everyone and we have a Superb week of Good Weather. Thank you Steve
  17. Hi just thought I would share this. Had to buy a new Battery for my Daughters Skoda Fabia bought one online from "The Battery Guys" great deal cheapest deal I could find even got 10 percent off by using an associate company searched on Google. Fantastic service Delivered by Courier to your door the next day if ordered within their deadline cut off time. The only problem encountered was that when the Battery arrived it had not been stored upright and had leaked in its sealed plastic bag. Contacted the "Battery Guys" who sent out a replacement within a couple of days. Replacement arrived in good order and fitted to the car. 4 years warranty on the battery which is made in Korea. Quality of unit seems OK I have had Batteries from them previously that are fitted to other cars in the family and still working well. Worth a try if you are in the Market for a New Battery. Steve
  18. Haven't driven in London for a while but used to do it everyday from Ealing and Hounslow. Also in early part of my youth used to ride fixed wheel bike from Ealing to Bond Street. When I could afford it I rode my Motorcycle in and out of London from both Ealing and Hounslow. It seems forever ago but I never ever really found it a problem but it does up your mental mettle. I always enjoyed it but then they bought in the Congestion Charge by which time I had opted for a life in the Midlands, Cleaner and Fresher but I do still miss London and all the Hustle and Bustle. Never mind Grow OLD Gracefully with a Hood and a Harley !!
  19. Phil so sorry to read about your daughters experience. I always pray that they can live a safe life. Pleased to know that she is OK and may have some bad memories but she is OK which is the main objective. I have 2 Daughters and pray they will have safe Motoring experiences eldest has been driving since she was 17 ( soon to be 21 ) and the youngest is still in the learning stage. I just have to PRAY for their safety as it is always difficult to see other people out there who are not good drivers. Hope she recovers quickly and takes her experience as another Lesson Learnt. Stay SAFE Kindest regards Steve
