  1. For sale exhaust heat wrap £25. As supplied by Car Builder Solutions (1" X 55') retails at £29 plus vat (£34ish). I've used 6' off the roll and none of the 10 stainless ties. Jez
  2. I'm after a mini heater if you still have it, let me know. Thanks Jez
  3. Am I missing something, I've gone for the mini setup because the Sierra system doesn't seal through the hood and the mini does??? Jez
  4. Doc Fox, theres no difference in length I went from 4 sp to 5sp. The output shafts are different though, the 5 speed is bigger than the 4. I think RHE only do 5sp props, but if you want to use 4 speed I have the UJ to 4sp gearbox part kicking around somewhere. Jez
  5. Hi Adrian, they might be the horn connections if you have a centre push on the doner. Mine had two brown wires though, '86 2.0i. You'll need to keep it and transfer the contact ring off the Sierra wheel into the Mountney so you can use the centre horn. Check the Haynes again the horn circuits may be on a different page. Jez

    Clocks

Ian you can I did on my last car, speedo was ok by the way. The problem you have is the connector to the 2litre clocks is wired differently to the 1.6l. I'm sure theres a download somewhere which tells you which wires to swap. If you can't find it I could help you work it out. Jez
  7. Ian meet Andy your area sec if you've joined, your both in the same town. I'm using 8mm copper pipe through the tunnel (B&Q heating stuff £10 20 metres). PS thanks for the sump but once I'd cleaned it up it was perforated so couldn't use. I used the sump I had in the end but what a pain to make the welds seal. Jez
  8. Anyone got a spare inertia switch for the injection fuel pump. My donor was an '86 and it didn't have one? Thanks Jez
  9. Hey all, I know a few of you guys have successfully used a Vauxhall injection fuel pump with the Sierra carb fuel sender. Can you let me know which car would be best to get the pump off. Thanks Jez
  10. Tak, looks like I can get you some, but not back at work til 4 April. Jez
  11. Hello, was talking to guy at Staffs with a 2B injection, he had a Transit cable fitted and thats the way I'm going, not sure what model though. I enquired at Halfords about one, they dont hold in stock but would be £5 or £10 depending which year seems cheap nearly ordered both. I'm going to take the Sierra cable along somewhere that stocks them to make sure its right. Jez
  12. Hi Takumi, I work for Yazaki designing wire harnesses, I assume your talking Ford injectors being UScar spec. If they are I should be able to get hold of some, can you post a picture of the injector connection so I can see if we use it. Jez

    Suspension

Not sure about SubK, but the springs are usually held in place by the shock limiting the suspension travel, at max travel the springs are kept under some compression. On some early hoods a piece of rope was provided to limit travel?? Jez

    Exhaust Wrap

Has anyone got a meter or two of exhaust wrap left over, I've come up a bit short and wanted to try and get away without buying another role. I used the stuff from Car Builder Solutions. Jez

    Shortend Sump 2

Looks just like the plans I'm following from the NW website so should fit ok.

    Pinto Sump

Anyone near Coventry got a spare pinto sump I can have to shorten. Thanks Jez
  17. Hi all, looking at the fit of the injection bonnet the cut out looks too far to the right, the throttle cable bracket touches the bonnet left of the cut out. Anyone else found this and what remedies are there, is it a case of shoving the engine over. Thanks Jez
  18. Problem now fixed, new brushes sorted it, looks like the Mountney wheel is a few mm further away and the brushes had worn a few mm. £9 from Uncle Henry. Jez
  19. Hi, just checking, but when I fitted the mountney boss using the centre push horn the contacts onto the sierra copper rings don't reach. I made a few measurements and can only see a few mil difference, I'm assuming their worn and a new contacts will rectify. Has anyone else had this problem and how long are the brushes when newish. Jez
  20. Hi building 2b plus. Dont cut anything off, mentioned in the amendments start of video Z. I have fitted my shocks into the tubes all the way up and have spaced the bolts so I could repostion if too low. The car sits fine as is maybe a bit high at the moment groung clearance is about 8" to bottom of chassis which would match clearance needed at front for sump etc. Jez
  21. I was looking on SVC's website and noticed theres an autojumble at the 3 counties show ground Malvern tomorrow 16Jan. Has anyone been before, just wondering if its worth the trip. Jez
  22. Hi Andy, you dont't need to change the prop completely you can change the end that goes into the gearbox just means splitting the UJ, also the length is okay. I got a new end from a local prop remanufacturer for £20. Jez

    Cobra

You can buy the "A car is Born" DVD through the Discovery Channel website, got it for my birthday. Might not be the program your thinking of but this is also a Sumo built by mark Evans 6 episodes and lots more info. Drop some hints for xmas. Jez
  24. I think if you have a roll bar you don't need the second hoop. But if it does need to be fitted it attaches to the first hoop and leans back. Position would have to be to suit the hood and to allow it sit inside the first hoop. Jez
  25. 2B plus The 2" angle supplied bridges across the rear suspension mounting plates in line with the bolts for the large rubbers used to locate it. I found this a bit tight and have used two M8 bolts either side into the 4mm plate, also I had to cut the ends at 45degrees to clear the rubbers. The drop of the angle needs to be at the back or the handbrake cable will be too short. I hope this helps. Jez
