  1. It's a chain not a belt you will need a new chain tentioner. Have a look on less Welsh er Web site he managed to re use the original one. Stephen
  2. Check the oil on the dipstick as water could be mixing with oil, will look like cold coffee and level increased. Dont drive it if it is probably head gasket. Plus lots of white smoke when first started. Stephen

  10. Got a letter saying that they understand the frustration caused and it was not ther intention to cause undue worry and frustration. And as a goodwill gesture will cancel the charge due to an administration error. So £16 well spent on appealing. Stephen
  11. Think you will need a hard hat or you are very short. Looking at that pic. Get some good lighting makes it nicer to work in. Good luck enjoy the build I am still amazed that a car I built can do the things we do, ie drive the best roads in the world and make it home! Stephen

    Depends on what setup you have ie alternator idler pulley and where mounted get a length of string around and me sure the length needed simples Stephen
  13. I wish a bit to high mantance for me, we had fun in Zurich there was a techno perade with thousands decending on the waterfront with the girls waring very little, we sat at a street cafe bar with the girls facing in to the bar and did some bird watching. Bob is in to legs ! Stephen
  14. We are back home with 1856 miles on the clock and every one enjoyable even when we had to turn around near Stelvio pass due to road works. Guess who drove around the road closed sign, and the rest followed, a turn on a very steep narrow road made it interesting, with a shear drop if you got it wrong. All with out any major problems, and sun 95% of the way. Thanks all that made it a great 10 days. some pics Stephen

  18. After 3 nights at Chalet-delcanebianco , near Bormio. Our hosts lead us out to pass Gavia with great roads switch backs that have to be taken wide in and full lock to get around. After 4 nights of great food 4 course home cooked dinners with wine. We parted company this morning, leaving Maria ( our host )looking to get a seven inspired car, after a drive of mine, and a passenger ride in bobs. To day 6 of us headed back to Zurich, via Livigno with a fantastic vista over the lake, through Fluela pass, though Davados Klosters, for two nights in Zurich. Adrain & Linda going north to Germany.   19. Arrived in Italy safe and well Cars coped well with stelvio pass what a road. Hit cloud at the decent the other side which was intestine blind bends in fog! The welcome at the chalet del cane banco was great a along with a 4 course dinner. Stephen

  21. It was a bit wet for the last 20 miles last night but not a surrey job. Now in Switzerland hotel good car in an underground car park so very secure no need to cover up and put to bed . Did 3 countries to day as ventured in to Germany a bit. The town square was very impressive for a morning coffee. 8 Hood is in Switzerland Not lost yet! More mountains tomorrow Stephen
  22. We have arived at our first stop in Nancy France without out any major inicedents. My sat nag played up after a lunch stop so A drain Took over leading until we where within 1 mile of hotel with a fucarwee moment and did an extra 8 miles. 8 hoodies lost in France! !! Next stop Switzerland Stephen
