    Wheels

hi all, only just seen the other replies to this. thanks for the offers. went over to Andrews in Newark and picked up my set of five steel wheels. a better set of rubber than i've got on my tin top! thanks andrew. theyre currently sitting on my decking. in the hallway is the new manifold and carb and a few shiny bits, and the house smells of petrol after firing the car up in the garage for the first time in ages. is it obvious that lovely wifey is away? Paul
  2. from what you've said it isnt going to be a lightweight, as that was an ally monocoque rather than tube/box section. i'm probably wrong but i dont recall RHSC making orange GRP until the zero? They could well have been a later purchase though. worth having a look here to help identify what you have. Would be nice to have a nosey at a few pics though! http://nw.rhocar.org/identification.htm also where are you based? might be local members to you if you fill your location in on your profile. welcome to the site paul
  3. hood foots starts at 2:45 ish. then 14:43 then 33:ish (no roll bar?)

    Wheels

hello, does anyone have a set of steel wheels with some legal tyres (in east mids) that they would like rid of in exchange for beer tokens? going to get the alloys powder coated and could do with a set to move car around on while they are away. regards paul
  5. i've used the microsoft business live website, a builder and a host and its all really easy to get up and running. you can also go from very basic up to fiddling about with your code.
  6. i'd agree the temp here at the minute would be lovely if i wasnt dragging my ar*e in and out of meetings or sitting in a sticky office, but was sitting by a pool with a cold beer in my hand.
  7. lets hope you get a positive response. I have a rover 75 with a 2.5 v6 in it and it pootles noiselessly like a limo at low revs and has a great howl when you push it. good fun. would be great in a hood.
  8. even sports man have been caught out! http://sport.scotsman.com/football/Broadfo...sion.5272399.jp Piercing the shell of an egg before cooking may not be sufficient to prevent an explosion if the membrane inside the shell is not broken. Although the patient claimed to have pierced the yolk sac before cooking an intact yolk sac would allow a build up of positive pressure inside the yolk Almost 300 movies of eggs exploding in the microwave are available on the video sharing website ‘YouTube’. These videos demonstrate that the force generated by an exploding egg is great enough to blow open the door of a microwave oven. More should be done to educate people not to cook eggs in microwave ovens. scary.
  9. hi andi, thanks for that, amazing. how do you do that? i think you're right about too much blue, thats the trouble with the bonnet, its so huge and wide. the plan was to get it done in that colour and then buy some adhesive vinyl and add a single thick strip, starting at say 6 inches at the nose cone and increasing to maybe a foot along the middle of the bonnet. the vinyl would give us the chance to play around until we were totally happy, whereas spraying it on wouldnt. however if i could do that in photoshop i wouldnt need vinyl! isee that this wasnt the best picture as the sunlight creates a different colour on the bottom half of the bonnet, but the result is still amazing. thanks again. paul
  10. here are some pics, are they any good? i'd been considering having a multi colour job, after seeing the race prepped vindicator at the factory but didnt want to copy their colour scheme (despite it being yellow already. after spending most of the weekend watching the coverage of le mans a blue/black scheme seemed a good idea. my idea was to have the wings (back and front), bonnet and boot in blue and all the rest in black. i'll probably then play around with some sort of stripe up the middle of th bonnet to break the blue up. i would have liked a bonnet bulge in black, but the su's are so wide and high nothing fits, and making one might look ridiculously big. i quite like them poking out anyway! oh yes and finally get my silver alloys painted black to match. paul Nigel , it often seems to us that the NHS administration is set up to be as defensive as possible, very few solutions are offered, it often takes a mixture of desperation and bloody mindedness to get the best treatment/care. when you get there however, the people at the front line have been truly amazing.
  11. hi all, some of you might have seen a rather tatty yellow vindicator at the odd show last year, which is mine. i'm thinking now about sprucing up in the bodywork, with a new paint job. Faded, with scratches, lumps missing and various odd holes here and there may look ok on old furniture, but not on a kit car. I have an idea for a two tone colour scheme but daren't go and get it done without seeing it first. is anyone anygood at photoshop or something similar who could help out? (i'll drop a donation to a charity of your choice :-) or a couple of beers at newark if you'd prefer! thanks paul on a different topic just saved this years membership fee on my insurance with a £20 discount. £186 quid for the v8 sprint, with me and the snr as named drivers. Insurance company: Backford Bloor. great small business. no call centre, and i love that they go and fetch your paperwork, rather than it all being on computer! yes i'm a luddite.
  12. i drive a saab 9-3 vector a while back, and that was brilliant. rear wheel steering made me chuckle on roundabouts too, should be well within price range now.

    Laser Scanning

we did some R&D for a company up in scotland that did something similar, produced stunn ing 3d visuals of historic buildings. i always thought it would be a great thing to have of your own house, but i guess prices for scanners will need to fall a little more for that to be feasible....
  14. i'd like to see mclaren and ferrari battling it out at le mans in lmp, them plus audi would make for a great race!
  15. due to being a bit occupied at stoneleigh i didnt manage to get a sticker is there a "kit car bits may fall off" going spare anywhere? paul

    Hiya!

i think there are a few DAX 4x4 sevens about and i noticed that on the vindicator they are in the middle of building a four wheel drive sprint at the moment.
  17. just a thought, i've had an ally tunnel top for a while and the only problem with it is that it isnt very comfy on a long run on your elbow! just got some padding and its a lot nicer. am i getting old?

  20. if you're after a cheap seat the bargain basement bit on the tiger website has some toger seat pad sets for not much money at all. i was looking at them until the cobras came up for sale at a silly price. but might not fit with the look of your car. paul

    Night Driving

the smell of fish and chips is never so intense as when you're in a seven. almost impsosible to resist unless travelling at speed!
  22. why is metalic harder to spray than solid colours?
  23. i used to work night near east mids airport. local police were very keen on anyone stopping anywhere near the airport, even if they were just eating a sandwich from the 24 hour garage and watching the big DHL planes come over! paul
  24. B*M oh well just have to rev it harder to drown out the noise!
