  3. Flux Hope you have got it started again. Nornal answer is --check all your looms and engine sensors. Its the ECU that controls it all. I had a kill switch wired in and a connector fell off --4 hrs waiting for the AA. Graham B

    Noob Hello

Hi, If you are a Nissan expert , and can work out their wiring plans.. I could use some help getting the CA18 ready. Graham B Thatcham , Berks
  8. Had to buy mine from GBSC. Graham
  9. Mine is in the passenger footwell as designed , just modified.
  10. Look in your Yellow pages ( on online) . Lots of local firms offer powder coating and £30 will get you quite a bag of bits done. Graham B
  11. Ditto, Really enjoyed the Robin Hood ing. (sorry about the holes in the tarpaulin ) Great event. Graham B

    Mt75 Gearbox

Me too, Spare just sat there..free to collect. Graham B
  13. Kev Check out the height of the unit before proceeding with the Zero build. I shortened the sump by 2" but still hit the deck in my 2B --which had the bonnet resting on the front of the camshaft cover, --Its a tall beast, even before the efi plenum chamber sits up alongside. !! the MT75 gearbox , that came as standard with the DOHC also has a wide bell housing ---space?? Type 9 would not be a problem. graham B
  14. Didn't actually try it, but I believe so. The Lobro ends are into the splines of the diff and held in place with a circlip on the inside. The oil seals etc seem to be the same for all the diffs. The lobro shafts come out real easy once the circlip is removed. Graham B

That looks like an upgrade. Cross tube and lobro hubs too? Graham

    Dohc - No Spark

You dont have to take the injectors out. just put 12v across them individually --you can hear them click. graham B
  18. The new engine is the CA18DET from a Nissan200SX 1808cc turbocharged., should be good for over 7000 rpm. using the Nissan gearbox onto the 3.92 lobro diff I had fitted with the 2.0 l DOHC Ford lump. Problems have occured, as expected. New pedal system required as the engine needs the area the servo fitted. ( OBP pedal box, extend the pedals, twin cylinders for the all round disc brakes, hydraulic clutch. Inter cooler needs to mount somwhere. Radiator to go further forward into the nosecone. Battery might have to go in the boot !!. Alternator position needs changing as the steering shaft is in the way. Maybe a sump chop job, maybe not. New bonnet. New exhaust pipes. Still in progress!!! When it runs you could have my old DOHC !! Why wont it run ? I have a spare ECU etc. Graham B New propshaft. Old ford loom to be dismantled and the Nissan engine loom grafted in.
  19. If I were doing it again from scratch I would buy a smaller aero unit from Europa or someone like. and mount it in the boot top ( you have to design and make it !!) , leaving the back with its original hole coverred over. No more bends and very slow filling.. Graham B
  20. Kev, Have you got a carb head or are you modifying the injector one? Yes they are 2 different beasts!. DOHC efi.
  21. Hi all, Fitting the Nissan engine has eaten into my pedal box space. So with a hydraulic clutch and ditching the servo it will be a 3 cylinder job. Who has fitted floor mounts to the 2B and what extra bracing was required? Anyone tried top mount reverse ? Graham B
  22. Flying cancelled cos of the wind, rain etc. Now a table for 10. See you 12:45 ish Graham
  23. Sorry Chris, Another meet I am going to miss. I know its unlike me, but I have to go to The Hawk Conservancy to fly some birds --my 60th birthday pressie from the missus. From Theale direction --watch out for the the swing bridge over the canal and the 90 degree corner!! Google shows it as a roundabout !! maybe it is now... have a good one all. Graham B

    Auto Sierra

You will have to adjust the chassis to take the wider back end of the MT75 gearbox. but it has been done , more than once. Another advantage of using the MT75 is that you can make your own extension and put the gear lever where YOU want it, aas far forward or back etc. Graham B
