Poker Pop-Up?

My last bit of info on this:

My laptop which I use for my drums, never browsing, but with Bitdefender 2012 installed. Popup blocker on = ok. Popup blocker off = popup appears (poker one) and Bitdefender traps and quarantines the Trojan.

I get the poker pop-up now at work, started a couple of days ago but doesn't happen every time I come on the site.

We use IE7 and we have (I assume) decent security. However, it's obviously not that good because a few weeks ago I got the 'Disc Anti-virus Professional' pop-up on my machine which took it down completely and it had to be re-built.

well, 'i was told' this is a deliberate advert. I don't like it.

Came about after people complained about the money we spend / benefits for members.

you having a laugh surely, who santactioned it ? I,m morally opposed to casino,s / gambling its preying on people with addictions and can in extreme cases wreck lifes . I thought this club was family orientated... Or are you saying the site has somehow been hacked?

Dan, I suppose if its matt's website (and not the clubs) he can do what he wants with it and doesn't need anyone to approve it.

If this is the case (which is only speculation), a bit of a heads-up would have been nice so we're not all thinking we've got viruses.

Hold on chaps.

This seems to have gone into accusational mode.

I don't know any club officials who would not give Mat more money if he asked for it. Mat works for this club for free, he only asks we pay the cost of his outgoings. (That is how I understand it)

Poker popups are not a way to earn money.

They write trogens and infect machines for free, so why pay to advertise?

As I said at the top and again lower down and now again.

The trogen is on your hardware not the server. I am 100% sure due to the technology.

Don't believe me, then carry on this way and P155 Mat off and we won't have a web site!

I think it's far more likely people's browsers have been compromised because clearly some people aren't seeing the advert. Also, I can't see our site being the typical target for this kind of advertising. Also, it sounds right out of character for Matt - I'm sure adverts would be put up as banners on the forums, not as pop-ups?

I don't really get this, but would agree that we shouldn't jump in both feet first and assume its deliberate advertising.

The only other thing I don't get is why the popup only happens when i visit this site regardless of what pc im using? My eccentric logic suggests to me that the site has the infection and the pc's I'm using don't have the correct software to block it?

Like I said earlier, I don't see it, so if you do, then you need to get YOUR machine cleansed - I carnt possibly see how it can be owt to do with the server

Please folks, Back up a little & read Matt's post of the 29th Jan. 2013 "Google Ads"

If I'm reading this right (& highly likely I'm not) then ads only appear if you are not logged in automatically.
