brought the manifold from gbs today they said it would be a tight fit but it fits like a glove its the zero gt manifold

don't think I will meet the db noise test at Mallory park with this setup

the original rh can on the pinto was loud and that was on drivers side this is on passanger side so quieter for me

Keith has something similar on his mk and trust me a jumbo jet on take off is quieter!

when finances allow I will get the gbs silencer got to save up for it cos they aint cheap

You haven't used all the available space and could add a resonator box between the manifold and silencer to good effect. I used to have one and it was very effective at reducing noise. I made it by cutting, gutting and welding a silencer like yours. You could do one without the rust.

what is a resonator box? i assume that was what was on my orginal sierra system as there was a bulged piece in the system.

 

any idea on size to be effective? the one on my sierra exhaust was only an inch or so bigger than the pipe itself but around 8-10 inches long.

 

 

p.s. OP if you can weld stainless you could make your own can. I'll post pics of my homemade one later. Just finished welding the ends on the wknd. A lot cheaper and any size you want!
