Few Mods Started

had a good day today removed vicous fan and old radiator and fitted polo rad and kenlowe fan still yet to plumb up due to needing pipe.

as been having engine power issues checked all compression 125 on all 4 pots so engine good so stripped car and found power valve knackered etc so new rebuild kit ordered.

so now to rebuild carb, plumb up cooling system and fit strengthing brace underneath

it will get to stoneleigh lol

At least all 4 were consistent, even tho they are low...they should show 160 - 170.

I'd be inclined to re-test it with another compression tester,

and make sure you followed the instructions.

 

I know it goes against the grain!!!!

Reasons for low but level figures on all cylinder are many.

First one being faulty gauge.

If not smoking just use as is.

Someone could even have put the wrong or low compression ie, pistons from a Transit in.

1600, 1800, 2ltr should all be similar figures.

Compression ratios would change figures.
