instead of changing the whole light units saw some LED bulbs on ebay so got four to put in indicators already had an LED relay so put the bulbs in and relay and nothing would work anyone got an idea wots wrong

leds are polarity sensitive..assuming they can be fitted the wrong way ie 501 bulbs.

 

if not remove them one by one and test them with 12v . also test the relay.

 

if it worked before the bulb and relay away its one of those items.

Check the LED's work when connected direct to 12 volt battery -- polarity is VERY important -- so try both ways if no joy on first connection. Next try with only one or two LEDs in your indicator wiring, the circuit MAY still need some resistance. If part working with LEDs but not all ,then flasher relay is not up to running just LEDs.

i know the bulbs work cos fitted them with standard relay and they worked just flashed to fast got two LED relays and neither of them worked

As said just try half & half, tungsten & LED.

if I switch the hazard lights on the switch illuminates and stays constant but none of the bulbs work

I think that indicates that the relay needs more current flowing through it -- sounds like the old type thermal/bi-metal strip type instead of electronic.

think will just have to put up with normal bulbs

Fitted LED bulbs to rear lights.

very little light backwards as the lights I had pointed the bulbs sideways and the LEDs sent the light sideways.

lesson learned back to tungsten.
