  1. And just to be on the cautious side a fire extinguisher then at least if anything does go wrong you can save it before it destroys too much. Good luck and as said video it.
  2. Evening all thought if start a build thread and document the progress. The purchase of the kit was even if I say myself somewhat of a impulse purchase after deciding I was bored with the power from my road legal track car and the cost of supercharging it versus the end value didn't tally so I purchased an unfinished kit from a chap who bought it new It was a rolling chassis with engine and box already in. So I've had the kit almost 3 years now and I'm finally getting some good progress made after it been sat untouched for over a year after buying a house. I managed to get the old girl to start a few weeks ago somewhat of a milestone and currently getting the wiring loom in. Decided to go all out and fit a new electronic dizzy and high power coil to be honest as I'm going it's getting treated to many new upgraded parts. If im gonna build it it's gonna be built right first time round that's my plan anyway. Finished the fuel line and fabricated the mounting for the tank the other day so that's the fuel side all in and plumed tank, sender, pump, lines and pressure reg for the carbs :-) Looking to add pics as it develops Cheers Mike.
  3. Fantastic I'll have to confirm the wire colours tomorrow but i think mine has 2 brown and a black but I'll have a check.
  4. That may certainly be the way forward. How could I tell the difference between a type 9 and mt75?
  5. It has 3 wires coming out of it. That last pic is from under the box still have panels out so can get in. I thought the reverse switch was on the drivers side just in front of the lever?
  6. I'll take a pic of mine tomorrow and post up mine is exactly as above but I'm still mid build so you can see the tubes i shaped and welded on the the handbrake.
  7. Evening all just been looking into how Was best to run my electronic speedo. After having a good luck at the box tonight am I correct in thinking I have an electronic speedo output already as well as the cable? I hope this pics work.
  8. I'm changing mine but due to to not having a vacuum to run the servo as im running bike carbs so I've opted for a master cylinder from a ford ka seems to be a popular choice as the bore is smaller than that of a Sierra so will be easier to use and you can get one with the correct amount of outlets you require 2/3/4 etc.

    Dashboard

The only thing I'll need on the dash that's not going to be more or less flush is the choke cable so asking as its near the column it should be ok then?

    Dashboard

Yeah I was looking at the one from kit spares that has a 19mm lower radius I think it was

    Dashboard

Evening all, just after a little advise I'm currently in the build process and installing the loom with regards to the dashboard is it best to fit the horrible one that came with the kit and use the original Sierra dials which are horrible and I know I'll be too busy driving it and not change it to how I'd want so I'd much rather fit a grp dash along wth my full set off smiths telemetrix dials and savage switches. My question is will I have any issue with the Iva fitting the later as far as I'm aware the smiths have the correct radius along with the savage switches. Then if and when it passes I can devote all my time to driving it not altering it. Thanks Mike.
  16. Yeah I've had the rocker off and all seems well spray bar working well. It's certainy more top end than bottom gonna get some water in the system and do some longer trial runs.

    Still looking????
  20. Ok I'll report my findings tomorrow night. So it doesn't matter that my crank pully is on the second notch then
  21. Evening all had the momentous day yesterday of finally getting the kit running. I purchased the kit as a part built. The engine had been fully rebuilt by a local engineering firm by the last owner. The firm I have used in the past and are good. I don't know what was done or who reassembled it. I got it started with ease considering it's stood for some years. Once running there is a noise almost like an old rover that has noisy tappets then 10-15 seconds later the oil he's up and goes away exempt this is noiser and doesn't go away. On installing my new dizzy I set the cam pulley to tdc so the triangle points at the dot but noticed the bottom pulley doesn't match the first notch which is 0 but the 2nd then there are 2 further ones I'm not sure what that means or is the timing out and Pistons hitting the valves? Any help is much aprechiated regards Mike.
  22. Individual filter socks may use less space than the larger one piece filter, I'd personally use a filter just stops foreign bodies entering the engine.
  23. Gonna have a look shortly at other options but think it'll go there. Yeah I shouldn't need the leads you supplied me with dizzy as I already had some made up accuspark ones although they don't seem to fit over the plugs
  24. 2.0 so all the heat is at the other side. Hmmm I suppose on the end footwell panel it is open road underneath allowing spray to come up.
