Just a flat blade should do it, or a small bike tyre lever. Loosen off the centre screw and give it a push to make sure it's let go off the spline. Should them come off easily.

Hi Rich, Fuel Gauge is straightforward enough. I remember clamping the sender to the roll over bar and using a piece of propped up cardboard to help me calibrate the travel of the float against the Gauge. The cardboard was marked corresponding to the tank height and I extended the float arm so that it would cover the full travel, from Empty to Full. Works a treat! Speedo is compatible with type 9 box and std Ford running gear and so was within limits for SVA. Rev Counter picks up from the coil IIRC. Temp Gauge needs a Capri sender (I think it's a white collared one?). Oil Pressure is also simple, but you'll need a T-Bar connector (Burtons) to tap off in Tandem from where the Oil Pressure switch screws into the block. That just leaves the Ammeter, which is a bit of a pain because things have moved on since the Capri days regarding electrics. Anyway, I wired it on the Alternator wire. One at a point near the Alternator itself and one way back under the dash. The point is to get a measure of the electrical difference between the two points, which correspond/reflect what what the Alternator's doing. At least it's not a dissused Gauge. HTH.

OK, Here you go. I ended up buying a couple of these during my build but the others worked fine, so I never actually used these ones. I think they're OK though. Two things to note; Firstly, One of the circuits is broken (see third pic) Should be an easy fix, or bypass altogether. Secondly, There's no plug I'm afraid. So, £10 plus £4 for P+P if you're interested? Let me know...

Hi John, I may well be looking to part company with mine as I'm just not getting the use out of it these days. I was going to advertise it next spring, but it's ready to go now really. It's well sorted but not high spec, but then again way below your friends budget (OIRO £4250). There's some spares and would be 'on the road' from day one and take it from there. I guess what I'm trying to say is that it'd make a very sound base for just about any modifications. Let me know if your friend would be interested and I can provide further info. Hi All, Managed to source another Clutch Quadrant & Pawl. The original was quite worn/damaged. I now have a working clutch, so I'm back on the road. Clutch is still heavy though - as before (was OK on the previous setup). Couldn't get a replacement cable at the time, so I turned the cable round 180 degrees, but that made no difference. I believe the cable is OK. The engine will be coming out soon anyway, for various reasons and I'll have chance to maybe see what gives with this clutch then. Meanwhile, I intend to enjoy the summer - Oh,,, now it's piddling down! Thanks to all for their advice...

Hi All, Since fitting my fresh engine & gearbox, all has been well apart from the clutch being very heavy. I didn't measure the clutch arm, but all looked to be the same as the previous setup (both 2 Litre Pinto & Type 9 Gearbox) and so being as everything was in better condition, I transplanted it all in. This gave me a quieter gearbox, a newish clutch and an engine with less than 4000 miles since overhaul. Once underway then, smiles all round. I've been worried though about the heaviness of the clutch, as it's not really making the car a joy to drive. I've been trying to keep the miles low, which is a shame but I've been putting off doing anything about the clutch until the weather breaks. Break was the operative word though on Saturday. Pressing the clutch pedal in highstreet traffic resulted in a loud bang and no clutch at all. Very emabarrasing. I suspected that the clutch cable had given up, but no. Cable is good. I've removed the pedal box and all appears to be working ok. It seems that the clutch quadrant & pawl just can't take the combined pressure of my foot at one end and the heavy clutch at the other. Basically, the teeth give up and it all lets go. I can get a new quadrant & pawl easy enough, but I'm wondering if there's something more seriously wrong going on here. I'm a bit reluctant to rip the engine out again, but I've probably got no other option. Do quadrants & pawls wear out? My other question to you all then is this: Has anyone come across anything similar previously. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks...

Hi, I was wary of using any type of sealer in this area. What I used was a rubber seal from a used oil filter. Six years on and 35K miles and no leaks yet, so I guess that was a good solution.

A thinner locknut on the top wishbone will allow you to screw the top links in further and thus give you more camber. On 2Bs (and I know they all vary a bit) the NS Rear wheel does indeed tend to sit in a bit too far. You can confirm this by running a string alongside the whole car and comparing what you have each side. On mine, I fitted a spacer on the NS wheel with longer studs too. On Sierras IIRC, I don't think the Diff was central and the half shafts are not the same length. On a 2B, the Diff sits central and this is why the wheel needs tweaking out on the NS. As usual, I'm prepared to be corrected on all of this As has been said before, shim washers will help to give you both the toe in and camber you need. All a bit Heath Robinson I know, but I paid a guy early days for a four wheel alignment check and he was miles out. There's some nattering about all this on my website... HTH? PS: I've hustled mine around the Nurburgring on really crappy tyres, in circa 10 mins.

Hi Steve, I'm about to embark upon putting a fresher 205 into mine (including Gearbox) which I have waiting. So, my original 205 with 35,000 miles on the clock (plus I really don't know what) will soon be available. It's a good engine - Good pressure and doesn't smoke and I'm only doing this swap for the decent gearbox and a engine that I'm much closer to knowing the mileage of. Let me know if you're interested. Tried again at 08:15 and there were weekend tickets suddenly available. Clicked to buy one but by the time I'd put my details in (which didn't take long) was informed that those tickets had gone. Tried again and went through the same process at 08:20 with the same result. I hate websites that do things like this (it's simply bad design) and was getting a bit stressed so gave up!

Was going to go for a weekend plus camping ticket @ £85 Went on the website, but by 08:10 it looks like they're all gone :-( With only three of us expressing real interest I going to go for an individual exhibit - I haven't bought a ticket. Will fill the form in tonight.
