  1. Hi All, Quick question. On the Rover T series SuperSpec, what connection on the solenoid is live and what is the earth? There is one 'large' connection (13mm nut) on the top and one 'small' (10mm nut) on the bottom, along with a couple of spade connections. There are no markings on the solenoid that I can see. Thanks in advance. Cheers Al
  2. Hi Garry, I've also done something similar on my SuperSpec for the boot area. I used 9mm external ply, and waterproofed the ply using glassfibre resin, (also added additional strength). The 9mm ply was easier to get hold of and cheaper than marine ply, which was my first choice. Hope this helps Al
  3. Thanks for the kind words and congratulations all. It was a surprise to us as well 5 weeks ago!! Looking forward to telling the family at the inevitable drinkies this Saturday night - they all think they are attending a belated engagement party. Cheers Al
  4. Hi All, Just enquiring whether a new garage pass will be required . After 19 years (6 engaged), finally tied the knot in Weymouth last Saturday to the much maligned Lana . Now she is threatening to restrict access to the garage Guess i'll have to form an escape committee and hand over the TV clickers Still, as long as the tea and butties keep coming, then can't complain Al
  5. Well done Harvs, hope for us all yet. Good to see not too much requiring major work. Al
  6. It did sound good Joe once everything settled down. The misses did twig when she heard it though and she had to turn the telly up , still saved me from putting the dinner on Don't forget, if she labours tomorrow, a little more tinfoil and a couple of earthing straps should see you good - i've already applied for the patent Hope she starts OK next time. Samco Hoses

Hi MJJ, I'm still building my SuperSpec, but I have changed the supplied black hoses for blue Samco Silicon hoses. I didn't buy a complete kit as this would have meant some hoses not being used, (heater hoses for example), so I worked out what I needed (bend radii, hose lengths, diameters, joiners where required etc) and then paid a trip to Rally Design with a shopping list (they are only a short hop up the road). Quite a theraputic little job to do and visually worth it Good luck. Al

  10. Second that, well done Luke, good result. As you say, plenty of hope!! Al
  11. Finally got there then Robin, a great task of perseverance Just have to make sure you have enough fuel in the tank for the future Al
  12. Good luck Harvs, it will be interesting to see how the Super Spec fares with the IVA. Nice work of all at GBS to supply necessary info - well done Richard Hall and all , is there a chance of a standard document or will it be on a case by case basis? Cheers Al
  13. Hi Joe, Not wanting to state the bleeding obvious mate, but this may explain why you were running 2 cylinders 'cool' and 2 cylinders hot. (see discolouration of manifolds in 3rd photo), plus how warm they felt the other day. Finger tight plugs aren't normally a good thing I'll ask around at work if there is a borescope I can 'borrow' for a couple of hours one weekend. No promises though, i'll let you know. Cheers Al
  14. Joe, Well done mate, well on your way now . Car sounds good, bet the neighbours round here liked it Hope to be joining you in the next few weeks ish or months ish. Al
  15. Hi All, Nigel, as Mike says, e-bay is a good start, this is where I got mine from. It has both normally open and normally closed contacts and is a webcon part. Can't remember who supplied it though sorry Hi Will, thanks for the pointer. Mike has sent a piccy of where his is located, so options are there. It was just a question of preferred choice (if any). Thanks for the ideas Al
  16. Thanks Mike. It makes sense to also use the inertia switch as an anti theft device to stop the little toe-rags. I'll have a look at a similar position or somewhere on the tunnel side under the dash. Cheers Al
  17. Hi All, Finally getting round to wiring. Laid the loom around the car yesterday and am just wondering about the best (or most suitable), position to mount the fuel pump inertia switch. Any suggestions as always appreciated. Cheers Al
  18. Or a pile of cheaper HSS bits (from Screwfix for example, they do packs of ten), so when one blunts or breaks, just change it. Using copper grease helps preserve the sharpness a little. Just for info, where have GBS relocated the handbrake to? I'm re-positioning mine on the tunnel side and am having some support / strengthening brackets made as there is a little 'side to side' play on the lever when bolted directly to the tunnel side. Al
  19. I've got the Machine Mart one, cost around £15 last year. Al
  20. If more are available for Newark, can I reserve one please? Subtle but humorous. Looks good on Enforcers car as well, but I think i'll only fit the sticker once I get my car through the IVA, just in case Al
  21. I think the sentence under 'Chilly Chops' sums it up
  22. Hi Tony, Don't suppose you have the details for the cable length for the SuperSpec. Might get Speedy to make one for mine when I get closer to finishing. Will probably order the angled drive as well for the MT75 as there is supposed to be a minimum radius, which looking at the cable/box union looks more than a little sharp to last. Cheers Al
  23. Bumped - PM sent Cheers Al
  24. Hi Dan, Would be interested in both. Unfortunately I can't make it to Stoneleigh, so if you get an offer before then i'll understand. Otherwise will have them via post. Just let me know the total cost if still available after the Bank Holiday and we'll sort out payment etc. Cheers Al

    Vin Plate

I think for the IVA the VIN plate also has to display the vehicle / axle weights. GBSC advertise a new IVA compatible plate via e-bay for around a tenner. Al
