  1. I suggest a stainless jobbie is going to be the easiest route. The configuration of the 2b chassis doesn't lend itself to a standard scuttle like a Westie one.
  2. What do you know about it anyway. ( ps Still love the Grill ) I did have a very interesting meet recently with Warren at Carbon Copies. Do you know him? If not, I'll put you two in touch,
  3. Saw this on ebay. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Robinhood-GBS-2B-kit-car-over-20000-spent-on-the-build-no-reserve-/151471884913?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item23446d8a71 It's up for good money but has not been through an IVA so is illegal on the road. Looks like someone is going to end up with a spares car that will need a lot of work for IVA for mega money

    Exhaust Manifold

With the Tiger one, it doesn't look like the pipes are the same length so will affect performance a bit.
  5. Are you sure you're a Hoodie? Sounds like Cateringvan talk to me Buying the correct one instead of bodging modifying??? Whatever next

    Wipers

I take it we're talking about the classic mini one and not the modern mini systems? Thanks chaps.
  7. Tipex out the original dial values and reduce them by 2/3rds

    Wipers

What wiper motor is everyone using? I have a 300 year old mini one in the workshop which was going to chuck on but was wondering if people had fitted a modern mini arrangement or something else?
  9. Hi people This Capri belongs to a friend of mine and was nicked from the Birmingham area last night at Midnight by 3 guys in a old White pickup. I think it may have a few more stickers since this photo. Please put this on your FB site so we can get this back.

    Surrey?

We have some great roads but one more bad Winter and they'll be mostly unusable. May have to build a 4x4 Hood Pubs are a different matter I'm sure Owlman has some ideas under his hat so will wait for him to respond but if anyone's in the Guildford direction in December then drop me a line or if a few people want to converge one Saturday or Sunday Lunchtime then I can suggest a good venue.

    Surrey?

OK, haven't been about recently so haven't got a clue what happens in our woefully underrepresented corner of civilization but was wondering if there's such a thing as a gathering near my Manor? Is this posted somewhere and I'm looking in the wrong place and what's happening in December?

    Oooops

I love it when a story starts with a "I've got an idea" and ends without loss of life, wealth or Liberty. Well, a bit of wealth's OK
  13. Mine has odd spars knocking about all around the scuttle area. Also, I have re welded a few bits of chassis to fit a zetec back a few mill while using standard disty and cooling system. Why do you think my car is called Frankie
  14. A very good option as mentioned by Tractor is a front fixed arrangement. I reinforced my nose, connected it to the bonnet and also chopped off the last bit to make a scuttle. However, it's not the best option in my opinion. I am currently working on a fixed nose and scuttle with a fore and aft snap catched bonnet in the middle. I feel the best and most secure while being the most elegant in construction. Much easier to do with a Zero but if you have a lifetime, you can make a 2B look good too.
  15. You may need to do a bit more searching for the Chassis receipt
  16. May try and work one into the boot to adjust handbrake cable
  17. OK, I'll have to have a look to see what I can use. I'm going to look at a Focus ST170 and am hoping to use the Engine, Steering and hubs front and back on a one off RHE chassis. As the chassis has never officially been sold, I will be able to sort out a receipt no problem I have a MT75 knocking about but need to think about the Diff. Have most of the remaining parts knocking about and will make up a wiring loom. Panals will be SS (or polished Ali) and Carbon.
  18. Cheers mate. So, the steering and engine is fine but take lots of pics to prove they came from the Donor. I'm going to use new double wishbone suspension with Gaz dampers all round so they will be new, the engine, tranny and diff will all be recon so hopefully that will be enough for an age related plate.
  19. Speaking of another 'Ashley', you can always get a kit and weld it yourself. http://stores.spencerashley.com/manifold-kits/ For example, all the components needed for a 4:2:1 including manifold, downpipes, 4 to 2 collector, pipes and 2 to 1 collector into the silencer pipe will cost £95 for a Zetec. You can then arrange and weld at your leisure. I have one and it's fine.
  20. Just trying to refresh my memory and see if anything has changed recently. What must come from the Donor to get an age related plate? Steering, Engine, Transmission, Diff etc? What about if you have a FWD car and fit a different Transmission and Diff? I'm thinking of doing something interesting and want to avoid a Q.

    Nose Cone

Has anyone got a mint Black nose cone with the carbon inlay?
  22. Thanks Ian. Deficit in stupidity restored to mere incompetence as per usual Narrow ones the top two. They will clean up a bit but are never going to be mint. The grey / silver on the bottom left seat is cat hair (little bugger)
  23. Seems I'm suffering an overdose of stupidity. How can I post pictures on here? I tried uploading a image from Photobucket shop and the Forum wont let me. I tried posting the link and it doesn't seem to work and the images are bigger than the size allowed on here?
  24. Top set are the wide ones and narrow ones are the second 2. =24332152&filters[recent]=1&sort=1&o=2"]http://s88.photobuck...pg.html?filters[user]=24332152&filters[recent]=1&sort=1&o=2 http://s88.photobuck...pg.html?filters[user]=24332152&filters[recent]=1&sort=1&o=0 http://s88.photobuck...pg.html?filters[user]=24332152&filters[recent]=1&sort=1&o=1
  25. Also a set of new clam wings for sale. £50 ono
