    Alternator Bracket

Does anyone near Leicester have a spare bracket that the alternator bolts to on a 205 pinto? Beer tokens issued. Or are there any products that would fix a slipping thread? Thanx

    Dizzy Wired Up Wrong?

Hope this helps Sure did, it ran fine for about 15 minutes now the old V8 sound is back and backfiring a lot. Have to check the spark when i get a minute and possibly the bike carbs as they have a tendency to come loose at the manifold hoses.
  5. Maybe a dumb thing to do, but have replaced plugs, leads, diz cap, rotor arm to try curing a misfire, and Im not entirely sure the leads are on correct. See picture Cheers Andi
  6. Was down Norwich for the weekend and went to Snetterton Sunday market. There was a guy there selling brand new biker helmets for £24.99. Ideal for aeroscreen users. Nice n cheap

    Starter Motor

Yup! It was the starter, well solenoid. But the problem was intermittent. Wasnt till the 3rd time of dismantling and cleaning that I found it. Got a recon for£45 that looks brand new and all is wel. So glad it wasnt the flywheel.

    Starter Motor

On cranking the ignition Ive started to get a horrible grating noise from the starter (either that or a slight delay before cranking) Ive read many previous postings and it seems like it could be the starter gear, or at worse the flywheel. Just checked the connections and the solenoid end to where all cables go is very loose at the wire end but not the other. About to strip it all down but would be handy to know if this would be the cause. Andi

  14. I wish I'd had one of those previously - would have saved a lot of time hunting in the depths of the garage for suitable thick washers when trying to sort out damage to Fiestas and Novas owned by my lot !!! Yes that`ll certainly help. Cheers
  15. The father in in law has had his drivers door lock screwdrivered. It doesnt seem like the poor misunderstood souls who need more of our understanding, actually got into the car but the lock is a bit wobbly and pulled out. Has anyone got any quick fix suggestions for this? (the lock that is, not the scumbags) Thanx
  16. Mine was a Triumph Herald 1300. Got it for £50 but Mum said I wasnt old enough to drive at 16 and wanted the garage back. She made me sell it for £15 to a collector. Deffo have it back. When I was old enough it was a single wheelbase transit 1600. errrm no I wouldnt.

    Dip Stick

Dip stick measures where the surface of the oil is. Doh! Yes it does. Quite obvious when you think about it

    Aeroscreens

Havn`t used a bike helmet yet, but i know that after maybe 1.5 hours motorway driving, or like in the picture.. 14 minutes in February. I would be happier with one. I personally think an aeroscreen adds excitement to the experience, though after a while I do get knackered. Originally I wanted to go for screens and side screens but now I wouldnt change it. This time of year (rain not included) Good sunglasses, and lightweight jacket under the seat is ample

    Dip Stick

Sorry to answer a question with a question, but the topic is something Ive been thinking about. I have a shortened sump and was wondering if that would affect the ideal level for oil on the dipstick?

Ok so maybe there are`nt many bends, and the fire ants are a problem, But no litter, potholes or pedestrians really make up for it.

    Newark Show

Not long got back from camping in East Berlin.... Yes!!! East Berlin..! it was an old soviet training and relaxation base in a big park in the city center. (http://www.tentstation.de) We used these pop up tents that are amazing if you cant be bothered with pitching. They really do take 2 seconds maybe 3 (that was the one we had) to put up and are double skinned and totally waterproof. Best camping gadget ever LINK http://www.decathlon.co.uk/EN/touring-tents-13801414/#

Eat like an American (when in Rome) Ponderosa restaurant... All you can eat breakfast for pennies. Sonnys BBQ Pit............ Unbelievable ribs and steaks. The Golden Coral......... Al you can eat full on American food, again pennies compared to here. These places litter FLA. Oh yeah and if you drive through a huge swamp in Paisley Ocala forest say howdy to my brother who thought it a good idea to buy an acre of swampland and live on it.
  24. Hi, Mine are doing exactly the same from 2 out of 4 of them, its actually worse when its cold wether I use choke to start it or not.
