Hi Yan Yes you are correct, Jumped in with both feet and got a remote filter kit, then found out the filter needed for the remote mounting was a ford fitment. went into euro car parts to see what filters would fit and got talking to the guy there explaining that the existing filter was to long and i needed to fit a remote, he went into the stores and came out with a mondeo filter. It was at this point he also pulled out another filter and said "is this filter short enough it will screw straight on" not having the car with me i bought both just in case. I now have a never used remote filter kit with mondeo filter spare Yours if you want it £20-00 +p&p Steve

Hi Pete Yes, got one off fleebay with the small boss (flange) just unbolted about 8 small bolts and the new one bolted on in it's place no probs but as you say the boss is smaller than alot on the market. I found the 11" wheel a bit small for me too but loads seem happy with them. HTH Steve PS I think the new wheel is about 12"

Is the socket insulated from earth, if so it may be wired the wrong way round? I dont think it would stop the lighter working as it is only an element so providing it does not short out would still heat the element. the + ve is the centre conection ie the bit the pointed end of the plug connects with.
