    Wheel Alignment

I've got a 3/8" spacer on the nearside plus shims on both sides to get the angles of dangle correct, but the wheels still don't look the same - I just don't look too closely !!
  2. How about just painting them ? You could flat 'em and fill any holes before spraying them to match the nosecone. Alternatively stop looking so close & drive - adjust your mirrors and you won't see them from the driver's seat !!
  3. Mine's very similar to Angus, long bolts through chassis tubes, with bits of tube as spacers. Ends of the spacers are shaped to fit the chassis and I've got a shorter spacer at the front so that the front of the handle is close to the tunnel when off (just enough room under it to get your fingers in). It's also as far forward as I could get it without it getting in the way of the gear lever, so I don't need a double jointed elbow to operate it. Hope this makes sense !! Steve
  4. I've never managed to get scratches out of mine either, but I now know lots of ways to make them worse. I just use window cleaner now (as Alan says), and I don't look too close !! Steve
  5. Can you put me down please John - I'll have to come & have another play. Thanks, Steve
  6. Hi Dave, Car builder solutions do a range of UJs and shafts, have a look on their website - http://www.nfauto.co.uk/ there might be something that'll do the job for you. Steve
  7. Hi Phil, I'm actually booked on this trackday - hopefully I won't be looking too stupid, but it looks like there's one or two quick cars coming to play ! See you there, Steve
  8. Hi Jase, Don't forget to stick an air regulator thingy in your pocket. I'll probably not be there till 8ish myself. Steve
  9. As per Steve above - I've had a set of Timbo's finest on the front of mine since early this year and the difference has been amazing. It's got to be worth asking him the question.
  10. Originally had the standard alternator fitted low down on my 2B with a longer belt & lengthened adjusting bar. This worked but the alternator was too close to the ground for me - large puddles were to be avoided. I swapped it for a little Denso one off a Suzuki something (can't remember what) but I had to make a new bracket up & alter the wiring to provide an ignition switched +12V for the Denso alternator. Hope this helps, Steve
  11. I've gone with Graham Sykes this year. Significantly cheaper than Adrian Flux and seems to be a better deal - guess you only really know if you have to claim. Steve
  12. I bought an SLFL25 from RS components a few days ago - it cost me £17+ and I'm damn sure it isn't twice as good Iain's. Story of my life - find the bargain just after I've spent my money, guess I just wasn't meant to be rich !! I'm tempted to buy one of the others just as a spare at that price. Steve

    Garage Clear Out

Hi Tim, I can find a good home for the exhaust if you could ship it up to me. I know it's not the easiest thing to post, but If you can, let me know how much. Thanks, Steve
  14. Hi Jase, Should be off work for a few days that week, so I'm definitely interested in an evening out. I don't have any suggestions of pubs or places to go but I'll keep thinking. Steve
  15. Got my pass too thanks - I'm planning to get there about 9:30 on Sunday ............ but we haven't had Saturday night yet ! Steve

    Wifi Signal ?

Where's your router in the house ? Can you move it upstairs ? Playing around with where it is might just give that bit extra signal strength to work in the garage. It might cost you an hour or two but that's all. Mine's upstairs in a back bedroom and works a treat, but when it was downstairs I couldn't get a decent signal upstairs ! Hope this helps, Steve

    Seats now sold. Steve

    Pair Of Corbeau Seats

Been busy, sorry for the slow reply. Still got the seats, PM replied to. Steve
  19. Hi Dan, Mine's a Denso one off a small Suzuki something - a little 3 door hatchback thing, sorry can't remember what model. The alternator is the same size as the one CBS sell but it's mounting bracket is different. Body is about 4" diameter and 5" long. Cost me £10 from the scrappy - think CBS want about £100 for theirs but if you look on their website I think it shows a drawing with sizes on. Hope this helps, Steve

I've still got the seats if anyone is interested. Please ignore the previous post - a week & several texts later I'm still waiting for a reply .................. Steve

    Won't Turn.....huff!

4.5V sound a tad low to me - I'd expect at least 9V, even with a stuck starter. Modern batteries do have a habit of working fine one day then dead the next. I'd go with Mike's suggestion and try a jump start from a known good battery. Steve

    2b Chasis

I'm 6'1" & have no problems with mine - like Peter2b I tuck my left foot under the clutch pedal on long runs. I'm not sure whats getting in the way of your legs, when I press the clutch to the floor my left leg is virtually straight, and with the pedal fully up my knee misses the wheel with enough room to get my hand in between. Is the problem with the position of your steering wheel ? Originally mine was quite close to the dash and when I'd got the seat in the right place for my legs I couldn't reach it !! With the seat forward to reach the wheel my knees were hitting it. I moved the steering wheel back (away from the dash) by a couple of inches and problem solved. ................. just wondering now .......... was the car was wrong or maybe I'm the wrong shape ??? Steve
  23. As above - standard discs & drums with original servo locked up far too easily on mine so I got rid of the servo ! I reckon that you've got something not working quite right if yours doesn't want to stop. Steve

    Exhaust Failure

Mine tends to come a tad loose on this joint & needs to be tightened once or twice a year, but it's never come anywhere near to parting company. Steve
