oohhh its moved to tueday cool will be able to go to both. Once i get those cycle wings re-fitted that is, so might not make it this month. nearly lost one on the way back from the BBQ! i need a rivnutter and some glue me thinks, open to other fixing suggestions though!! regards keith
  2. i knew it would'nt take long before someone told me to get rid! lol. i will get her rolling roaded eventually but want to get her running better for the mids run on sunday regards keith
  3. hi, i have a pinto with twin weber 45's on that everyone keeps telling me to take off (i never give up). she runs find if you put your foot down but does not like plodding along in traffic. she pops and sounds a little rough. before i start palying is this likely to be the timing as i am almost certain the carbs now setup right? she runs fine at idle and if you apply throttle at standstill. and as i said she runs fine accelerating. the timing is set to 12deg the webers are as follows all fully sincronised with same air to each choke 36mm main jet 145 air corctor 180 emultion tube f16 idle jet 60f9 any suggestions would be helpfull regards keith
  4. should be there i need a run out!
  5. may be tapping you up for some tips on the pillars as you clearly have them setup well.
  6. Hi all, i believe that the cam i have in my pinto hood is standard however it does have R26 made in USA on it. i have looked at some others and they dont have this. is the CAM standard?? if not i could do with finding out what it is. regards keith
  7. "29 -- Terry Barker -------- 59.908 -- Tuned Pinto Hood (Pillars)" Wow not a bad time on pillars has made me smile they are not that bad after all!!!
  8. Looks All white! sorry could not resist lol. looks like a very nice job the black wheels look ace well done! regards keith
  9. The bearing is not readily avaliable unfortunatly but they come from the stripped down suspention strut of the sierra. I had two donated to me by some one who had them lying around. hopefully someone else has some spare they could provide you with to get you going. I am the same as andy and i am also a pilchard driver, also drive like a T**T and dont find them that bad. get her on the road and have some fun! regards keith
  10. OK got the car to stafford but could only get her running right without the air socks. dont want to run her without as she will get Sh*t into the engine. obviously the problem is that the air socks are resticting the air into the carbs but i am plum out of ideas as how i can change that. I know not many run with weber DCOE's but hopefully someone has had the same problem. regards keith
  11. Got some new emultion tubes and jets arriving today hopefully I can get her running reasonable to get to the Newark show. then rolling road time me thinks
  12. i love a good convoy!! just hope i can get her running right (ruddy webers) got a good selection of jets and btis now so finger crossed. will be ther with or without the hood though!
  13. the carbs were my second thought. the car was running fine ish last year (was not quite right but would acelerate quite well with no spluttering just a bit of carb spitting) and idle was not the best. it is a std cam i believe (it has R26 made in usa on it) jets are as follows main jets are 145 air correctors are 155 (which is a bit odd but it was running on them last year) have got some 180's but cant get the old ones out emultion tube is f16 idle jests are 55f8 (I have tried 50f9's but the 55's that were in it were better) one thing i will add is that the engine would seem to be running rich (plugs black and drinks more than my rugby team)which with the 155 air corrector is what i would expect. everything that was in the carbs would appear to be incorrect but she was running last year until i started tinkering.
  14. hi all, i am running a 2L pinto with twin weber 45s. have had fun setting them up and have just about got them running.Went out last knight and the car runs fine at idle and initial accelleration but splutters at 2500 to 3000 ish rpm. i believe i know what it may be but would like some second opinions while i am at work. any help would be of use. my initial thought is the timing. thanks keith
  15. Is there a convoy going from leicester or through leicester??? regards keith
  16. Hi, Had the car running reasonable last year but since playing over teh winter i can not get the carbs running right. i can get good idle and it revs up ok but as soon as it is under load it splutters like no tomorrow. i have checked that they are in sync and have checked the ignition timing which looks ok. looking for any tips as to where to go next. many thanks keith
  17. Hi all, As the title is there anyone local that has a timing light that i can borrow?? regards keith
  18. hi all, I got the car running like a dream on saturday but then i couldn't get her to start on sunday. started playing and after a while realised it was the plugs, replaced them and she fire d up. Only problem is that while messing i rahter stupidly messed with the dizzy (lesson Learned) and now she is poping and banging again. can anyone advise how to re-set this up or if there is anyone local that fancy's a cuppa that knows what they are doing that could pop round t5hat would be great. regards keith
  19. i used a cortina compliance bush from ebay as a replacement the bump stop if you look through the sliding pillock posts you should find a link that some one posted. having just recently put my pillars back together i can confirm that you defo need the spacer at the bottom to push the shock out and more in line.
  20. i will take them off you will pm you
  21. thanks mark, sound like it would work in theory but not sure i am grasping the concept fully though which of the washers are you refering to? thanks keith
  22. hi andi, as long i can get out on sunday i will have a spare seat. the wife is having a bbq for her birthday but i am trying to convice her that i can go to the show in the convoy and come back for the bbq! will let you know unless another off comes along! beside the whole point of going to shows is the convoy, i can't miss that bit! that the line i am going to use, being a petrol head herself should be cool with it. we will both be ther monday regardsless!
  23. yipee my car is famous (well almost) she is in one of the pics from the stafford show although just the front end next to Joels blue hood. well pleased.
  24. Hi all, i am sure you have all read my numberous posts about the pillars on here by now. (Manythanks to all that have helped thus far) just one more question. i have had the shsfts modified (found someone at last) and have had an m12 stud put in the bottom. question is do i still need the top hat as it does not seem to fit properly anymore?? think i have seen on here that this is because the bottom is not inline with the top strut. worked with the thinner bolt but the new ones make it sit at an angle and not flush with the botom strut. hoping to put back together today but as usual have hit anpother snagg! by hook or by crook this car will be at stonleigh!! on another note got my boys in the hood mag today and yipee my cars nose is in one of the pictures from stafford show! regards keith
  25. managed to get the right ones now thanks on to the next problem!
