  2. Just make some plywood formers by using the old bonnet as a template. Space approx every 8 to 10 inches and assemble into a skeletal type frame by screwing timbers between them. Imagine the timbers as a spine and the plywood formers as the ribs. Fold one sides returns and secure to the former then work it around your frame. Clamp it as you go with another piece of timber running up is length. As you get going you'll realise £180 is a lot of money..... or is it! Lol. Good luck.
  3. Fashion a heat shield out of some alloy plate. Highly polish the side facing the manifold and see if that helps the issue.
  4. Nelmo, Stoneleigh is only round the corner mate, it's be tempted to hold off and wait until then when you can see and try for fit a multitude of kits all under one roof.
  5. The. 'Deformed' nuts are lock nuts so just use as they are. Don't use thread lock with Nyloc nuts, it isn't needed. Washers are advisable to use under any nut as they assist in the tightening process and stop the nut binding against the part during rotation. Washers aren't usually required under a bolt head as commercial bolts / set screws are 'washer faced'. Look under the head of a bolt (not cap heads) and you'll notice a diameter slightly smaller than the hexagon. This is the 'washer face'. HTH.
  6. I agree with the above. I tow with a 3.2 litre turbo diesel and don't notice the van on the back. Easily sits at 60mph at just under 2000 rpm. MPG only drops by about 5 miles also.
  7. Nice one Terry, you deserve all this and more with what you've been through. As for the finishing touch.... it was my honour buddy.

    Stoneleigh 3/4 May 2015

Alan, definitely camp over, it's the best part of the whole show for us as a club. Don't be shy, just poll up, introduce yourself and join in and you'll be made more than welcome. There's a big hog roast for all club members too so that's one evenings food sorted. Getting tents up is a doddle as we all just chip together and help like a well oiled machine. (N.B. except Emma, she just turns up to a pre erected tent and opens the wine ) Looking forward to seeing you there mate!
  9. Thanks to both yourself and Derek for spending your own time in checking out this new venue. Looking forward to it already. Does the pub do breakfasts?
  10. The best way of answering your question would be to advise you to fully research the IVA process and requirements and also the registration process and it's requirements also. All you need is on the relevant .Gov web sites. The quick answer is to prove amateur build and that you built it.
  11. I'll pm you my number Andy. Just make sure you've got pants on under that kilt!
  12. I can gladly pick you both up Andy but wouldn't be able to take you back mate.
  13. That would be perfect for a private function.
  14. I'm struggling on my last week of 4 weeks notice! Just want out and to get settled in my new job.
  15. So basically then Andy.... The same cars as at every other year we've been! So much for the bull*##t about changing the displays then by their own admission! It's their loss in my opinion.
  16. That looks a good one Ian.
  17. Their loss Rich, there's not many that turn up early and assist setting up as RHOCaR has done the last 3 years. With his attitude he'll be the only one left soon and a lonely old man. Good luck to him!
  18. So that leaves Stoneleigh then....
  19. I won't be at this one so if the club wishes to have its usual show stand etc we'll need to look at options of transporting the club gear to the show from DE75.

    Zero Fuel Tank

That's correct David, i had one made and several others also. Your also correct on the built in swirl put option which removes the ball ache of siting an external one and also removes the need for a low pressure fuel pump system. It's a friends company i use, he has the full engineering drawings i did for the tank including pick up pipe locations etc. Give him a ring (Julian Robinson) and say Nick put you in touch. He's a good lad and only at Hilton, Derbys. http://www.jrfabrications.co.uk/
  23. Oi!! I don't know what you're all moaning at! I look like a God in my Mankini! Everybody always says "Oh my God" when i wear it so i must do....
  24. Or leave the wife and kids at home Kev and be packed up in 10 mins.
