Other than Yamaha R1 and Honda Fireblade what bike carbs are suitable for a 2Ltr Pinto

Biggest problem I find is trying to identify the wiring in the fusebox etc thats already wired up,it does not appear to make much sense,there is no diagram of the fusebox and what the wires are.I have connected the wires were I think they go and find I have only one terminal in the fuse box thats live.

It is simple to those who feel confident to do it

Have an acewell digidash to wire up and all the fuses relays etc,the more I look at it the worse it seems,have seen a lot of damaged vehicles caused by wiring faults and wouldn`t like mine to join them.

Anyone know of an auto electrician in the cannock area,I thought I had one but it appears he is one of those people who make lots of promises then doen`t show up.

Why do manifolds have studs why can`t they have bolts??Weber carbs on pinto engine does it matter which way round the carb is fitted??

Anyone know were you can get a clutch lever dust cover,have found a previous forum thet says try uncle henrys or 11RC cant find any reference to either on the web. Stewart

Just come to fit alternator from donor 1.8 CVH to my 2ltr pinto guess what wrong hand doesn't fit,what size alternator do I need have spoken to local re-conditioners but they only swap like for like unless you state what you require.

I have tried them they only have ones with the pipe connections on the right looking from the pedal mine is on the left

Sierra bendix master cylinder put new set of rubbers in it,just put fluid in and bled it and its leaking from the piston,can anyone tell me were to get a new one fix the old one or find an alternative. Found that the cylindere is a Lucas Part No PMH143 and guess what they are only £120 + VAT why havent I got the one off the transit they are only £30.Does anyone know why all sierra saphire cylinders on the web have the pipe connection on the opposite side"ie" on the right as you look at the piston end.

Sounds like you could have the same as I had ,mine turned out to be a Marrelli starter and you need to buy new brush gear to change that wire.The starter needs stripping and the new brushes soldered to a copper plate and cost about fourteen pound to buy .I bought a reconditioned starter for thirty six quid + the VAT

Trying to install a type 9 g/b to a 2ltr pinto,starter motor from sierra looks unusable,starter not recognisable from haynes manual but from other sources looks to be a Ford Marelli.It looks like getting a new or refurbished item but should I go for a direct replacement or is one of the other types more suitable???? :drinks:It has ten teeth and the lead from the starter motor to the solenoid has disintegrated ,would assume that it has at some time got very hot.

Have you got a gear lever for a type 9 box???

Does anybody Know if its possible to hire the 50mm hole punch required to put hole in rear panel for the fuel filler,required for stainless steel panel.

I am in the process of overhauling a 1984 2ltr pinto engine does it require new head bolts? as there seems to be controversy on this subject,some reports say they are streched bolts and must be replaced others say there is no problem using the old bolts.

You are not likely to get shafted there then????????????????

I am putting a 2Ltr pinto into a zero ,I have rad and fan supplied with kit,firstly do I need a fan on the engine aswell as the electric fan and which side of the radiator is it best to fit the electric fan.
