Hi Kerry, Where abouts in Rutland are you? I have a 2B with coil overs all round. Your welcome to come over or if there is an invite I may well be passing and could drop by. PM me if you wish. I'm in Kirby Bellars about 5 miles from Melton towards Leicester. Derek.

    Google Earth

Now I'm not saying it is but this is the car park at work and this the parking slot I use when I have been to work in the Hood. This is the sad bit, I could see it from my desk. 52°59'14.51"N 1°12'20.77"W
  4. Good call. The weather could not have been better. Great company, nice food and good beer. Thanks for arranging all of the above Phil. Will there still be a meet on Wed at the Waterside?
  5. Ditto Ditto! Great weekend. Thanks to all concerned.
  6. Bit too far for us to be there, too far ahead I mean! Only 3 miles away. Note to self Don't forget this month. BTW the last Friday in the month, in the Market Place Melton Mowbray, there is a car meet gets a few there.
  7. A big thank you to all the committee for supplying all the support and enthusiasm necessary for a fantastic weekend. This is the first time we have stopped over at a show and I'm sure it wont be the last, Mo is busy sorting out a hotel for Newark. After listening to the comments this morning about the arctic temperatures endured by all last night I'm sure she is right, who am I to argue and do I want to?

For all who Don't do Camping There is an alternative here £30.00 per room per night and it's on the show ground. There are rooms in the hotel (well there were yesterday) £85.00 per night B&B. Minimum stay 2 nights
  9. Poo and bother, forgot too! and its only 3 miles away. Guy next door came around to remind me but I was at B&Q picking up MDF! He said there was some good stuff there. Make note to wife to remind me!

    Happy Birthday Ian

Happy Birthday. Hope you had a good one and a few cups of tea just to celebrate. (just like the tea in Yorkshire) and if you can make 10 grow to 12 at your age then can I have some of whatever you are on. All the very best Marilyn & Derek.

    Ran Now Stopped

Just as Chris said the problem I had was with then throttle position sensor. I found the best way to test was to take the dizzy out (marking the position first) Then putting the dizzy drive shaft into an electric drill and spinning it up. That way you can hear the injectors clicking, see the spark all without the starter grinding away.If anything gives up under load it should show. On mine the injectors did not start to work till it was up to a fair speed but when I slowed the drill down they continued to work. Thats why it would start with a tow. Much head scratching and tea drinking later the TPS was replaced and its working well now.
  12. See you there barring any unforeseen problems. Pass out stamped; been to the in laws this afternoon
  13. Not saying nothing here, Sir Chris helped me with the "problem" I had last year and I may well need his help again!! Snore on Sir Chris. Spot on BTW Mitch!!
  14. We are already booked into the B&B. See you there!
  15. Sorry can't join you Hood is SORN at the moment. Up to my neck in grout and promised SWMBO it will be finished this weekend Need some garage time to sort the hood ready for MOT and another sunny hot summer! Have a cracking day out, enjoy.

    Passed

Now the smiles just get bigger. Well done now just enjoy. Just up the road from me then. And just down the road from Ian. I often go to the A1 on a run out. If you fancy coming to the Leicestershire meet let me know. Mine is off the road till March though.
  18. 2 Blue ones please, will there be matching saucers? You need something to drink your tea out of!!

    Oil Spray Bar

Is it pinto you are running? No problem here if it is. 3 small bolts hold it in. When you have changed turn the engine over on the starter to make sure you have 8 jets of oil. Yes messy but better than replacing the cam. Just like I didn't and the cam followers disintegrated.
  20. Worked for me too. Well done all involved. Could well be more new/renew members this (next) year.

    Will Not Start

Got the Dizzy(thanks Steve)connected it up and guess what, no difference! Well actually I was 1/2 expecting that, Had a long conversation with Richard Hall (another thank you). He said Cant be the dizzy as you are getting a spark, try the throttle position sensor. Sure enough fully closed it is reading 3.5 volts and should be 0.5 volts. I have now disconnected it completely and it starts first time every time. Runs a bit rough though. I have scoured the local scrapyards and nothing. I have Googled it and the only websites I can find that show up are in Poland. Has anyone out there in Hoodie land got one beer tokens waiting.
  22. Thanks for organising a cracking nite. Was good fun and the early retirement to the bar was not too disapointing. Being one of the larger sized people I found it increasingly difficult to breathe as the seat was trying to shove my ribs over my head. Need to loose a couple of stones (perhaps boulders) to get in the seat. Thanks again Derek

    Will Not Start

I think I may have found the problem. I took the dizzy out and connected it up, when it I turned it by hand the injectors didn't fire so I put it on a drill and used that to spin it up. The injectors fired but only when it was up to a fair speed. Slow it down and they continued to fire. But spinning it up slowly, like cranking, they didn't fire at all until up to speed. Tomorrow starts the hunt for a Hall Effect dizzy!

    More Sump Troubles!

I had to take both engine mounts off and jack the engine up as far as it will go. As Nico says jiggle it around so you can take the pickup off and with a bit of colorful language it will come out. Well mine did. Once the pick up is shorter it goes back a bit easier as long as you use the same language.
