  1. Just confirmed with organisers as 24th and 25th, so Saturday and Sunday of bank holiday weekend.
  2. I think I will buy a black box after pay day. The amethyst looks good but its twice the price and I'm not sure it's worth it on a NA pinto
  3. Looking as though we are going to be going away the week before this though will be in the area so should be able to join up with you on the Saturday and maybe Friday night.
  4. I was referring to the commission I earn in my job. Have managed to complicate things for myself though as have spotted aldon offer a similar product that has a vacuum input. They are only down the road from me to, but its about £50 more without a new dustributor... Do I really need the vacuum input? Decisions decisions.
  5. They seem very highly recommended and this appears a great way to go for a programmeable ignition setup. I've just dropped them an email, looking like I may have spent this months bonus already ;-)
  6. Has anyone used one of these? Very tempted by one especially with Rhocar members discount.
  7. Vin should be on the front offside of the chassis. IMO if its registered I would just check the things you would on a normal car, but make sure it is registered correctly and numbers match. S7s require various bits if strengthening to pass IVA now which if you search on here you will find a few posts on.

    Wheel Choice

ET -7 which those are would stick out massively on a hood. I have ET5 on mine and even they stick out so 12mm more I'd guess at them sticking out of the arches about 20-25mm. If your wheels sit 'flush' with the rear arches I'd guess you are running about et15 to et20

    Wheel Choice

Capri wheels can be up to ET5! So definitely check rear far of wheel and then just buy a set the same spec.
  10. Think I'll have another look over bits then before wasting time building linkages and I've got plenty to be getting on with anyway do should probably crack in and finish te rest of the build!
  11. Steamer I am not denying they can be started in that way on a pinto, however the only way my car will start is by using the cold start system.
  12. All the reading I've done says webers cold starts have issues but the dellorto ones are much better. Simple fact is it starts using the cold start system and doesn't without, so I need to use them.
  13. Definitely too much money. Although that is further along the build than mine was you would have to redo a lot and I paid a third less and still feel I over paid slightly, even then it will be £3k on the road if I had been as tight as possible on getting it finished. I haven't been though so will be more like £4k once registered. Don't tell the wife though...

    Aa

Well articulated rant. 10/10 from me. Shocking service from the AA though.
  15. Think most run on mega squirt Ecu or similar. Turbo is very simple and the engine was actually designed to be turbo charged.

    Wheel Choice

Are your current wheels a good fit? If so but the same sizes. If not, what do you want to change about the fitment?
  17. Build an Exocet, can be done in under 4 minutes
  18. Looks very similar to mine from That photo, but my rad is on the opposite side.
  19. Good spot. It's something I've got to look at addressing though I have some ideas on how to do it, just got to see what works. Dellorto uk can't supply the cold start lever, they can supply every other part of the cold start system but not the lever, going to have to look at making something or having something made.
  20. So following on from this thread http://www.rhocar.org/index.php?showtopic=37018&st=15 The twin 40s are now fitted and running. Video later in the week when choke linkage arrives and I get chance to tidy it all up a bit

    Fueling Of Twin 40's

I'm running the mechanical pump on my pinto. Currently not using a pressure regulator but think a 3psi one is recommended.
  22. Shouldn't have affected ride height. Haven't dislodged a spring have you?
