Welcome to The UK Kit Car Club
The Committee would like to congratulate Heritage Insurance on their 60th Anniversary in 2025
It's not just shows though, our active area secretaries and members regularly arrange run outs and longer trips to such places as Le Mans, Wales and Scotland, plus the annual club camping weekend and the traditional “end of season” get together. Keep an eye on the events section of the forum for news and details of upcoming events.
The Club also produces four magazines a year, exclusively for club members, filled with all manner of things club or motoring related, and members can get their own articles published in it as well if they wish.
The Club is an independent organisation, and although we have our roots as the Robin Hood Owners Club and Register (RHOCaR), we are very much a club for all makes and model of kit car, so anyone can be a "Hoody", as it's all about the state of mind, not the car you drive! Being a member of The UK Kit Car Club has many benefits above those already mentioned. Members benefit from discounted insurance with nearly all of the specialist kit car insurers, and often find that the discount is more than the club membership fee. Membership also gets you full access to the forum, and a variety of other discounts such as with Euro Car Parts. You'll also find other members are willing to go well above and beyond for any other member they see is in need of help !
So whether you own a Robin Hood, a GBS Zero, a Locost, an MK, a Westfield, a Caterham, (or any of the many other types of kit car), everyone can benefit from joining, so what are you waiting for ?

Raising Car an inch or 2

Hi Again Everyone.
Today for the first time I persuaded her indoors to accompany me for a ride out in the car. Where we live there are a number of speed bumps In order for our local posh kids in their parent bought little GTIs and supermini’s to stick to the 20mph hour. Now not to put too fine a point on it both myself and she who must be obeyed are not the skeletal types in fact a few extra pounds in fact stones have been present for years.
Problem is that car bottoms out on each speed bumps and I’m scared of ripping out the underside of the car. The crunch is sickening even when I try to crawl over the humps at an angle barely moving. Moving house apparently is not an option for the Mrs.
Problem no 2 is sadly unlike you guys who have built these cars from scratch and are very hands on I am certainly not very mechanically minded. I obviously need to somehow raise the whole car a little to stop it getting wrecked on these car killing humps.
initally I thought ok maybe bigger wheels and tires? Probably not so shock absorbers maybe the answer? Does anyone have any idea what I should get to fit the car although it will be a case of me being advised what to get and asking my local garage to fit them. I have taken pictures of the front but until I get get her on a ramp (the car not the Mrs) I can’t get pictures of the rear. PLEASE DONT SUGGEST SELLING THE RH AND BUYING A MONSTER TRUCK!!!
ANY advice would be appreciated guys. I got away with suggesting that we may have to get an extension for the passenger harness by the skin of my teeth but suggesting us both losing 5 stone is a non starter I think

Those of you who opted for a hard copy or didn't reply to my request for your preference, it is now at the printers and you should get it soon.

NW Area - Malvern Kit Car Show

For those members from the NW area interested in going down to the Kit Car Show at Malvern...
In the past couple of years a contingent from the NW have met up and travelled down in 'convoy', some there and back in the day others have stayed over.
Anyone interested this year?
A suggested plan, based on previous trips, is...
Where: Cat & Lion pub car park - WA4 4NB
When: Saturday 31st May 2025
Time: will be leaving at 9.30am (or....???)
The only thing we need now is some dry weather
Check your diaries and let us know if you will be there or not (sorry not looking like I will be there), fingers crossed a few of the NW members are available and fancy the drive down.

London & South East Area - Seasonal Monthly Meeting

Hello everyone,
I've been reviewing the locations of our London & South East area members to find a central spot for our monthly meetings.
Below, you’ll find a graph showing the top 20 counties and top 20 towns where most of our members are based.
From the data, Cobham in Surrey appears to be a convenient middle ground for the majority of us, as the area is very big.
Conveniently, Cobham is located near the M25 (Junctions 9/10), and the nearby services offer a large car park (3 hours free parking) along with plenty of food and drink options — making it an ideal meeting point.
UPDATE (29-04-2025) :
After popular demand through the forums and questionnaire sent out to members, the meeting location has been changed to:
Newland's Corner, Albury, Guildford GU4 8SE
