  • Welcome to RHOCaR - The UK Kit Car Club

The aim of the club is to help and support members during the build (and inevitable ongoing maintenance and modification) as well as to plan and organise events throughout the year.
The Club attends the major kit car shows throughout the year providing a stand with tea and coffee, plus a BBQ with food for members. You'll be warmly received, especially if you bring more food and drink !! We also have stands at many other shows all around the country.

It's not just shows though, our active area secretaries and members regularly arrange run outs and longer trips to such places as Le Mans, Wales and Scotland, plus the annual club camping weekend and the traditional “end of season” get together. Keep an eye on the events section of the forum for news and details of upcoming events.

The Club also produces four magazines a year, exclusively for club members, filled with all manner of things club or motoring related, and members can get their own articles published in it as well if they wish.

The Club is an independent organisation, and although we have our roots as the Robin Hood Owners Club and Register (RHOCaR), we are very much a club for all makes and model of kit car, so anyone can be a "Hoody", as it's all about the state of mind, not the car you drive! Being a member of The UK Kit Car Club has many benefits above those already mentioned. Members benefit from discounted insurance with nearly all of the specialist kit car insurers, and often find that the discount is more than the club membership fee. Membership also gets you full access to the forum, and a variety of other discounts such as with Euro Car Parts. You'll also find other members are willing to go well above and beyond for any other member they see is in need of help !

So whether you own a Robin Hood, a GBS Zero, a Locost, an MK, a Westfield, a Caterham, (or any of the many other types of kit car), everyone can benefit from joining, so what are you waiting for ?

    Tan Hill 2010

    Guest Ian Marr
    By Guest Ian Marr,

Tan Hill weekend is just around the corner (Sat 31st July) and it would be good to get a feel for numbers etc.

Plan is to start the weekend off with a brewery trip in Masham. As Masham is the beer-belly of God's Country we have a choice of breweries :drinks:

    Options for the Sat morning are;

Black Sheep 11.30am or 12.30pm - the charge for the tour is £5.95 for adults - includes the hour long tour & either a half of ale, soft drink or tea/coffee, if there are 15 or more people in the party then the group rate is £5.00 per person. www.blacksheepbrewery.com

    Theakston's 11am & 12noon Adults: £5.75 Price include a pint sample or soft drink www.theakstons.co.uk

Theakston's is a much older traditional building and also uses oak barrels and has a resident cooper - while Black Sheep has adapted an old malt roasting building. Due to commercial 'twists' the two breweries are owned by different parts of the Theakston family

I will need to book so choices and numbers please asap

When we know what we are doing I'll look to pull an interesting route together up to Tan Hill.

    Ian

    By Guest piddy,

    Hello all.

I’ve managed to secure 29 tickets for the show below, being held at Kimbolton near St Neots cambridgeshire on the 18th July of these, 15 have been allocated to club members.I have also given 4 tickets to none club members.

I therefore have 10 tickets spare.

These tickets allow a reduced entry into the show, £5 per car including its occupants (normally £6 per adult).

If you would like a ticket please let me know ASAP so I can post it to you, or I can hand them out at Newmarket services where the club members will be meeting at 09.00 on the 18th.

Please be aware you will be allocated a space on the East Anglian kit car club pitch so kits and classics only please.

    Martin.

The show is now in its nineteenth year!

It's organised jointly by the Sporting bears motor club and kimbolton castle Rotary Club. The aim is to raise money for different charities (15K in 2008)

Once again, the show is in the magnificent parkland setting of Kimbolton Castle (by kind permission of Kimbolton School), where Queen Catherine of Aragon, the wife of Henry VIII, was confined until her death in 1535.

More car clubs present than any other show in this area. (700 plus in 2008) one of the favourite shows of the season.

    Cars, Dogs, Horses, Fair, Stalls,

Shugborough Hall Classics Show (inc Kits)

    Andi
    By Andi,

    Hi all,

    Anyone interested in this

    http://www.transtarp...oroughHall.html

If so we have to be quick if we want to show our cars.

There are a couple of snags however firstly its £2.50 per vehicle

and secondly once in place the vehicles have to be there all day until 16.30.

The driver and passenger both get in with the £2.50 single charge as opposed to £6 each for regular payers.

Let me know your thoughts as we have to have the numbers in by next weekend.

Oh yes, ........ There are over 1000 entrys all ready

    Andi
