It`s a huge pub / restaurant / car park / garden and so distancing should not be a problem. Starting at around 19.30pm (you can book a table for food earlier if you like).

Everybody is welcome, come and drive your cars, or come and look at the cars if your building or thinking of getting a kit.

This weekend (bank holiday) we are open Saturday and Sunday and Monday. All Classics will be most welcome from 9am to 5pm. But i will be there from 8am if anyone wants to arrive early. I will be spacing cars 1 metre apart because of the covid. But they normally do that anyway so opening doors don't bang the next car .Free cuppa for anyone bringing a classic.    Cafe will be open for breakfast and lunch etc. Site has been made all covid friendly and the cafe is covid ready and all toilets have been brought up to covid standards. The above club puts on car meets and I went to one in July at Turweston air field near Brackley  Northants. About 500 cars turned up, kit cars, hot rods, classics, and a Austin 7 special ''kit car' Back in the late fifties buy a seven for £7-50 scrap the body and build a sports car. Go on their site,no need to join them just turn up. Where does the name Locost come from, mine has cost £1,000 just to make it safe for the road.Still it was  a gift with a headache

I've been back to the Malt Shovel tonight to check out the state of play. They are now open for drinks but unfortunately the area they have set aside for drinking will only accommodate half a dozen people.

In addition, they are busy on Wednesday nights with people eating subsidised meals and often use the drinking area for eating.

With this in mind, I still don't think it's safe or practical to hold our regular meeting there just yet.

I have also done a quick tour of a few other local establishments to look for an alternative and haven't found anything suitable. I think most that are open are mainly serving food and they are also likely to be busy on a Wednesday. 

If anyone has suggestions for other possibilities, let me know but I won't organise anything unless I can make a visit myself and ensure it's going to be safe for those attending.

Hopefully I'll catch up with everyone soon.

I am going to book for the end of season bash,  I will be coming with my 11 year old son for the weekend camping.  Do I buy one weekend adult ticket or 2?

I would like to restart meetings for the Lincolnshire team in August.   As usual I am looking for weekend lunchtime picnics which have been so successful in the past.   Unfortunately I am struggling with the same problems as other area secretaries in that we are limited to 6 people and also I need to find somewhere nice to visit with a big car park and, importantly,  open toilets.   My usual core team of 6 had a couple of practice runs in July, visiting Rutland Water and Foxton Locks, both very successful.   But we used the fact that we are all retired to have the meetings mid-week.  Even then, both of these locations were very busy so would probably be non-starters for a weekend meet.  I'm going to check out Burlghly House on Sunday to see how busy that might be.   But if anyone has any other suggestions in the local area let me know.

Meanwhile, could I have an idea of who would be interested if I can solve the problems ?   Please PM me or post here and let me know if you are weekend only or could manage any time.

Organisers are trying to gauge interest for a Classic Car Show at Knebworth House on Sunday 30th August 2020 and we are invited. They have completed a full risk assessment and will be implementing strict social distancing rules, using a larger outdoor space than usual, enhanced handwashing/sanitisation and additional safety measures on site.

If anyone is interested in attending, please add your name To this thread by the end of this Sunday 2nd August so we can let them know and potentially reserve spaces.
