    Which Battery

Thanks for all the replys. Went to eurocar parts and picked up a tiny but powerful battery from a Japanese car. - works a treat and smaller and lighter than the optima I had fitted.
  2. Hi does anyone know the size of MX5 seats or any standard production narrow seats that are out of narrow roadsters
  3. Hi does anyone have a pic of the kite mark on the bad screens or the markings on a good screen. Really don't like the idea of my screen coming towards me in a million pieces.

    Which Battery

Hi All. After years of driving my battery on the S7 decided on way home from Stoneleigh to start giving up the ghost , Pulled into petrol station filled up only to find battery would only turn car over slowly - thankfully being injection it was enough to start the car I'm currently running a red top optima but wonder what other battery's other people are using. Have looked at varley red tops etc - any suggestions ?? Running standard 2.0 black top.

    Wheel Shake.

Ok think I've found it !! The fronts are polly bushed and where the front lower arms go through what used to be the anti roll bar the steel inserts were slightly to long so the bushes never squashed in the arms and the arms could move back and forth about 2/3 mm . A little adjustment with the cut off saw later and both bushes do up tight. Have not tried it yet as rain stopped play- but think I've found the problem.
  9. Try some easy start or brake/ carb cleaner in air filter - if it then starts even momentarily then fuel has gone off

    Wheel Shake.

I have a problem where the steering wheel shakes - like the front wheels are out of balance. I've had all four checked twice at two diff places and both said there perfect and I've changed them front to back and side to side it's really starting to spoil the car. any ideas !!!
  17. Find a scrap yard. You'll be able to pickup loads of wiggly hoses for pennies.
  18. When it's running look inside the carbs and see if the slides lift when you open the throttle use your fingers to lift the slides they should open or lift easy and smooth- it's a starting point. Let us know your findings

  20. you can get the software and leads from webcon to adjust the mapping on the alpha- give Alan collins a call . i think my leads and alpha software cost £5
  21. The holes in flange shoud be same size as head (best) or smaller never bigger as the air will hit "the head" and you will lose anything you might gain also if your taking a vac from them it needs to be from all four carbs not just one as you will cause that cylinder to run leaner then the rest
  22. Just seen in this months complete kitcar mag that donnington is no more Can't say I blame them really. All donnington done was mess them around for dates and was being funny about stalls outside etc Ah well there loss - the only gripe I have is its only a month after stoneleigh

    Your Opinions Please!

Go to euro car parts and buy a bottle of head gasket fix. ( it's in a greeninish bottle) Bottle says simpley fixes head gaskets I've seen a friends ST Mondao blowing worse than that and 20,000 miles down the road the cars still running sweet as !! Got to be worth a try !
  24. Can I ask when you put bulb from small term on alt to direct battery positive does the bulb light up - you won't need ign on yo try this. If the bulb lights up then start car and see if it goes out if it don't light up at all then diode in alt has gone
