Yes i have done a bit of research and it is in fact Matt's car. I don't think it was ever on the road and the last info I can find is that the car was up for sale unfinished.I am quite tempted to have a go in the future as I think it would be a good technical challenge. I agree with Steamer that any gains will be small but I would really like to have a go.
Does anyone know anything about this car or who built it, I would be interested to see if the mod. worked, I don't see why it wouldn't. I was thinking with my car being a mild steel chassis it would be a fairly simple mod. to do.
It's not really surprising when you consider they expect 10,000 cars to fall into the free tax this year over the 15 years (from 40 to 25 years)this would cost the government 10,000 x 15 x £230 or 34.5million, so it is not going to happen when it is easy money and with the mileage we do it is not going to cause any expense.
My boot has been boxed in with ply and a hinged/ removable lid fitted again with ply all covered with leathercloth, I don,t have any photos at the moment but when these winds quieten down I will take the cover off and add some photos.
Is any-one else going to the meeting at the The Church Mouse Chester le Street, DH2 3RJ on Wednesday? I will be there about 7-30pm,hope to see you there. Alan
Really enjoyed the run out yesterday. Some great roads I haven't been on for a long time, great company, and great open top weather apart from the sun being a bit low.Norm and Allan hid their cars away for some reason!!!!!!!
Just got back from doing 76 miles up to Otterburn in the Cheviot hills, loads of standing and running water on the roads and every dip in the road was about 6inches deep in water. How are you meant to clear the water off the inside of the screen so you can see where you are going. Great fun, got that grin back on my face again, happy days.
Well after three days of being battered by gale force winds and torrential rain this morning is calm and fair, we haven't had it as bad as the West coast but its not been pleasant. If it stays like this I will have to get the Kit uncovered and have a run, i'm getting withdrawal symptoms.
What she means is that their image of a bureaucratic bunch of Civil Servants is false and they are really a caring customer friendly department but they are having trouble retrieving that image .
That is great news, I have followed your build thread all the way, all the highs and many lows, looking forward to seeing the car out and about instead of photos from the garage, well done Stu.
