I had twin 45s on my 2.1 pinto. Swapped them for a set of Yamaha R1 carbs. These give a better drive throughout the rev range and don't need adjusting every few months. Also better MPG (not a lot in all honesty, but every little counts)

Brilliant week end. Good weather, good food, good company and many laughs. The mass invasion of the dodgems by some 15 or 16 Hoodies was the best laugh I've had in ages. Hope everyone get home safely.

Going to meet Ivan and Andrea at Ferrybridge services around 3.30ish this afternoon. Anyone else wishing to meet up there is of course more than welcome.

Your problem might not be the rad at all. My 3A has the rad positioned upright behind the shocks and the front cross member. Its been like this for the 14 years i've had the car with no over heating problems. Are you sure that all the water galleries in the block are free from dirt and sludge etc? Also as Mick touched on earlier, the air not only needs to get in through the rad its needs to get out from under the bonnet. All you can do is work through things one at a time. We've all been there for one reason or another, keep asking questions and someone will answer. Also someone local to you may be willing to give hands on help. It's that kind of club.

Ferry bridge is good for me. Any time, but the later we leave it the heavier the traffic will be!

Where would be a good meet up place. I can only think of Wetherby services. Any ideas?

I've got the day off so can go anytime. I'm happy to fit in with anyone else. I must have a look in the barn and see if I've got any cider left!

I've looked back through the thread and answered my own question re-camping. Its on the show ground! Are any of you lot from South Yorks/Donny area going up together on the Friday? If so can we meet up somewhere.

Like Alan says, a Q plate is a bonus on older engines. My 2.1L pinto engined 3A passed its MOT last month for the 18th time. No probs. (no smoke either).

I think that could have been me. I remember we had a bit of banter with the guy selling them at Stoneleigh. However i'm sticking with the half doors that I have. So please don't hold them back for me. Marcus says he will take them.
