    Piston Rings

    If its a pinto it could be oil rings and still get good compression, when the pistons are out put a ring under the lip at the top of the bore and measure the gap and do the same at the bottom of the bore, if there is much difference get the bore measured it may need a rebore or you may be able to get oversize pistons.   3. Dont think you can get the big tank in without removing some bodywork . Im not sure about the 30lt one (I may be shot down over this statement) jon
  4. I used each end of one wiper blade. and sierra arms shortened and drilled. Each blade was held on with self tappers (wiper arms were hard to drill) HTH jon
  5. The wiper motor shaft is tapered with a small keyway. Remove the arm from the motor and refit it at 180 deg and tighten the nut a bit tighter than normal to form a new keyway. HTH jon
  6. We can meet at the layby on A19, east of the Holiday Inn at 10.10. Then Washington Services 10.30, then Beamish before 11.00. Driver and first passenger are free. jon

  15. My 2b dash is s/steel covered with 1/2 inch foam and then vinyl. The dash is screwed to the car with self tappers and stainless steel washers, about 8ins apart and 1inch in from the sides. ( poss not the best but it does me, its been ok for 7years ) HTH jon

  17. The outter cable is made from steel and plastic, if it gets hot, it acts as a concertina making the outer cable compresswith loss of inner cable movement. Cover with heat resisting matrial or move it from any heat sorce HTH jon

I would take lots of photos, from as many angles as poss, and I would get a second opinion as to the cause, it might cost a few bob, but it may avoid anyone accusing you of not fitting it correctly, as there would be no proof after its repaired I may be shot down in flames but its "my opinion"! jon
