  1. Well, I can finally show my face! Excellent news ... the dancing class my wife 'takes' me to has been cancelled for this Wednesday ... ... So, providing there are no: hail storms, floods, martian attacks, etc. etc. my 'hoodie' and I will be there! Alan
  2. Intend to go over for the day on the Sunday ... be my first opportunity to meet everyone - wouldn't be a smidgen left would there??!! ... or a cup of tea ... or a piece of toast ... or a crust of bread and maybe a glass of water ... pleeeaaasssee ... Thanks Alan

    Disaster!

They're brill ... just prepare the drink as you go to bed and it's just right for drinking when you get back to the car the following evening!! Just don't leave the top on or it could be too hot !! We old men have delicate lips ...
  4. Plenty there to consider, thanks ... will start thinking closer on the subject.
  5. Don't know what might be behind/inside - hope the original builder took the same precaution.
  6. Anyone designed a tubular support frame that attaches under the vehicle?
  7. A very good day everyone. My Robin Hood is a series III, monocoque construction, built in 1997. From the rear, it appears that the spare wheel is supported by a strong tubular steel frame. Oh no! Unfortunately the weight of the wheel & tyre is supported solely by the one central bolt coming through the bodywork. On closer inspection, the tubular 'U' shaped frame is simply held to the underside of the bodywork with 2 self tapping screws ... all I need is one, tired, overweight pigeon to decide to take a nap on this frame - and I guess it will drop off! (The frame that is - not the pigeon) The frame does have a purpose though ... it gives the number plate somewhere to sit! As the spare has survived 17 years in this 'precarious' condition, perhaps it is fine ... I'm unconvinced. What modification/improvement has anyone made that would give me peace of mind and give me the confidence to not check the rear view mirrors after every pot hole! Modification other than leaving the spare at home please! Rear view shown below! Thank you all ... once again. Alan

    Pom Pom Hat

I can second that idea ... providing you don't mind being confused with 'Biggles' !!
  9. Sadly ... :( ... very sadly ... :( on this occasion involved with theatre production of 'The Diary of Anne Frank'. I am looking forward to the day when dancing takes a break and stage sets/photography/Graphic design work are not being demanded. Enjoy.

  11. I'm afraid you wouldn't get much for me ... Oh, sorry, I see what you mean!
  12. I have to put my hands up ... guilty through utter stupidity!! Posted a cheque for club clothing, with a second class stamp. So what's wrong with that? It was in fact a 2p stamp!!! Senior moment? Wearing wrong glasses? No ... just utter stupidity ... can't find any suitable excuse to get me out of it ... just a prat! Sorry Dan.

    Winter Mag.

After a weekend away, I returned last night to my first ever copy of Boys in Hoods ... well worth waiting for! As a newbie, it is the first I have been sent ... something to treasure ... thanks to everyone involved in getting it together and published. Incidentally, when can I drop the newbie label? After my first magazine? After my first 'badged clothing'? After my first meet? After my next birthday? After having an article published in the mag? Is there anything in the constitution covering this query?!! ... Sorry, I'm being flippant! I have some 'low technology' modifications I have made to my hoodie which I will photograph and write up - once the weather warms up, for consideration for future publication. Would LOVE to meet up at Stoneleigh, but unfortunately might be touring the continent ... only because I can! Might send family along in hoodie to savour the occasion. Question ... Does a newbie move straight into the 'oldbie' category or is there another stage to pass through? Final question for now ... Is there a Girls in Hoods section to the mag ... sorry ... only asking ...
  15. Not on mine. Maybe something I need to look into on renewal.
  16. A very good day all ... I bought and insured my 'hoodie' last August, a new experience for me. I live in Birmingham and as I bought the car to share with my 'children' I wanted 5 names on a fully comp policy. I have no garage and have to park on my drive. I went to A Plan and the price seemed reasonable, so went with them. I pay £143.80, with 5 named drivers. There are limitations ... no using it for daily travel to and from work ... limited mileage each year ... etc. One of the drivers (not me) has speeding convictions but I was happy with the result. Highway insurance, of course, being behind it. Hey .......... today I can type .......... thank you keyboard .......... and whatever else is going on behind the scenes! Today I see sun out of my window ... yippee. Red logo_edited-1.bmp
  17. Sorry ... if it's a shiny, clean car you want to see ... mine's not the one to see!!
  18. Hi Nikki ... I have a Mk III but probably similar to what you've bought. If you want to come and check out how 'heavy' my steering is to compare you'll be very welcome. I live in Wylde Green ... just down the road from you. Alan
  19. Stu ... hope you are sticking by marine regulations for wet weather ... red on port side and green on starboard side!! So you'll need to carry 2 spares .......... !!!
  20. Excellent work, excellent news - thanks very much. Will pm you with details of order. Brilliant!
