  1. Just a few photos from the "very sunny North Wales Road Trip" .....
  2. Another absolutely fabulous run today. Tremendous company, superb picnic and meal this afternoon and a cracking run back to our B&B. Many thanks once again. Alan & Steve
  3. Food choices For both Alan and Steve beef and ale pie followed by profiteroles. Many thanks.
  4. Just returned from IKEA Buffet feast - will ask co-driver and try to reply first thing tomorrow.
  5. Intend to meet up with you all at Dobbies, after refuelling over at Sainsburys. Will join your convoy for a few miles up the A5 but will be shooting off on the B4396 to collect my co-driver from Trefonen then we'll wend our own way down to Porthmadog to refuel for the Saturday run, before heading off to Nefyn. Are we meeting up again Friday evening for an evening meal/drinks to be given details of the Saturday drive? If I remember correctly, we ate at the Cliffs Inn on the Friday evening last year.
  6. When we all have electric 'Hoodies' - what good use could the exhaust be put to? Storage for cans of coke? Running board? Home for a speaker to play exhaust noises to warn pedestrians of our approach? .......

    Tim ... will message you.
  8. Nice one. Will set about ordering a cable over the next few days and then see about timetabling the replacement. Thanks
  9. Best price I have found so far on eBay for a new cable of the vintage I require, is £20/£25. Before I order one in readiness ... does anyone have one that they would like to part with?
  10. Thanks Ian ... will research further about/around your advice. Thanks.
  11. Gentlemen ... and ladies ... My 'hoodie' is a Series III monocoque, built in 1997 - it's celebrating it's 20th birthday this year. Just had it MOTd. It passed, but my friendly mechanic/engineer told me that the cable was partially seized and will need replacing soon. He stripped it down, freed it, rebuilt it but advised replacement before the winter. He considered replacing the cable whilst it was off but could not tell whether it was off a sierra, Cortina - or any other Ford derivative from the day. Once I get the car back - is there an easy way to identify which cable to purchase, before removing the current one and leaving me without a useable car? Thanks Alan
  12. Andi ..... thought you were on holiday somewhere else! Or is that only for the weekend away, later?
  13. Excellent organisation, yet again. Many thanks Rich - crossing off the days on the calendar - might even wash the kit ..... well, possibly!
  14. Aiming to get up there ... weather permitting!
  15. Thanks for all the time and effort you put into planning the route Rich. If we enjoy it as much as last year's - then it'll be a cracker!

Another excellent weekend ... Sincere thanks to everyone who put in all the effort to make it run so well. Committee members (past and present) plus those others who are not actually on the committee but give us their 'all'. Thank you. It's a great event and well worth the discomfort of sleeping in a tent for one night!
  17. I have my membership card safe and sound but can't for the life of me find the safe place I put this year's windscreen sticker when it arrived!!! Is there any possibility of picking up this year's red sticker whilst at the show? Would also like some replacement RHOCAR self adhesive 'banner' stickers if poss. Will be there Sunday morning through to Monday. Alan
  18. Have booked in to Graeanfryn Farm, as last year, so will once again be sharing the breakfast table with Martin, Isabelle and Karen. Looking forward to our second 'North Wales Run'. It was a first, last year, for myself and Steve an old College pal (from the 60's!!! - yep, we are both still alive ... just) and we thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the weekend. As soon as we arrived back from last year's run, Steve blocked out the weekend in his diary in case I invited him again this year - which I have. My wife wouldn't enjoy the drive to the end of our road, let alone the journey to and from Wales - plus the run on the Saturday, so an alternative had to be arranged! So ... Alan & Steve to join your trip please. We'll make our own way there - probably Friday afternoon - and meet up on Saturday morning for the maintenance and repair slot, prior to the drive!
  19. Not missed the last few but not able to make it this year unfortunately. Hope you all have another excellent meal. Happy New Year to everyone.
  20. Thanks for that. Just removed the 3 amp fuse to try and determine what circuit it fused ... and lo and behold, the alarm/central locking wouldn't function. Guess this takes me a step nearer the root of the problem. Many thanks for this help.
  21. Thanks both ... some extremely good starting points there, will investigate further. Two of my three children are moving house and requests for work are flooding in (possibly an inappropriate use of the word there ...) so the Seat may have to struggle on for a little longer before I can afford the time to look into it. But thank you for responding. Alan
