  1. Personally, I just added mine in because they looked cool: I just googled 'bonnet louvres' and found a local guy who had the machine at his house - £100 and 1 hour later, all done.
  2. Dunno if you made it, Bob? Sorry, I forgot to look out for you....and very sorry for not reminding everyone. Details of the day in my blog: https://zerolifebuild.blogspot.com/2023/09/cars-in-school.html
  3. Er...we're here. There was a temporary (lasted for Tuesday or Wednesday) problem with the site but should be OK now...
  4. Great day out - details in my blog.... https://zerolifebuild.blogspot.com/2023/09/cars-in-square.html
  5. Just a reminder - weather looking great and I will be there (although possibly not in my car as I sort of broke it and I may not have it fixed in time). Look out for my son's black C63 AMG...hopefully, I'll be parked next to it
  6. I have a Zetec so this may not help you at all but until a Pinto expert comes along... There doesn't feel like a lot of coolant in that setup so I imagine a header tank would be good, if not for the visual check but also just because the extra pipework and tank will give you more volume of coolant. My setup is in my blog here: https://zerolifebuild.blogspot.com/2016/04/28.html
  7. Do a search - this has been asked lots of times before....
  8. You don't have to do/prove anything. Take it to the MOT, they put the reg in and the machine tells them what the emissions should be. As too taking too long, that's BS; they obviously don't want to do something that's going to have to make them think . Go elsewhere...

    Ford front wishbone

Ooh, dunno - whatever it is that GBS sold with a gen 1 kit?
  10. Pretty unlikely but if anyone has a Ford top, front, n/s wishbone sitting around, I'd be happy to buy it off you.
  11. I did that on my Zetec and it was fine. The only problem was that I was getting a fine mist of oil in the engine bay over time. So I added an oil catch tank - details in my blog here: https://zerolifebuild.blogspot.com/2021/12/keeping-it-cleaner.html
  12. Link to Softbits a couple of posts up...
  13. Final video is done - only 2 months late
  14. Problem is, if it's a car-only show, in reality virtually the only people there are other car owners/exhibitors so if they didn't charge, they'd make no money at all and there would still be no show. At least if you pay, you get a show where you can look at other cars. I've got 2 shows coming up and I've paid £5 for each - price of a pint to stare at some nice cars and talk car-*bleep*? Worth it to me...
  15. When I booked this a month ago, it was to be held in Winchester but there was some council problem, so it's been moved into the centre of Southampton. Also annoyingly, despite having paid my £5, I may not be able to make it, but anyway, if anyone else fancies a day out... https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/cars-in-the-square-the-southampton-automotive-s-tickets-662607004387
  16. There's a case for saying, with our cars being so low, that they SHOULD point upwards. I mean, they are literally 15cm off the ground...pointing back at right angles to the road is great for snails but not Karen in her SUV I added a 3rd high-level brake light exactly because I felt the standard ones were just too low.
  17. I haven't read the IVA manual again but I'm pretty sure there is no requirement for the rear cluster to be perpendicular- I certainly didn't make any effort to do that, unlike the fog light, and had no issues on the day.
  18. Does that gallery definitely go through to the sump? Might be a kink which may mean the bolt is just sitting there and that could be bad for oil pressure. Have you tried just turning the block upside down? Might just drop out?
  19. The bottom of my tank tees into the BOTTOM rad hose and the top of the tank goes to the top of the thermostat (Zetec).
  20. Wow, great day - details here: https://zerolifebuild.blogspot.com/2023/07/goodwood-breakfast-club.html
  21. True - although I do say in the text that I don't use that line - never seen a rad with that 3rd feed?
  22. Setup I used (on a Zetec) is the diagram at the bottom of this blog post: https://zerolifebuild.blogspot.com/2016/04/28.html
  23. Yes, lastminute.com but I've booked to go to the Goodwood breakfast club meet (it's free), so if anyone is around or already going and wants to meet up, let me know. https://www.goodwood.com/motorsport/breakfast-club/
  24. This is the link for SoftBits: https://www.softbitsshop.co.uk/gbs-77-c.asp The roof cost me £250 a few years ago and I believe they also have a very long waiting list now...but excellent quality and will be guaranteed to fit. They don't come up often for sale second-hand and tricky to know if it will fit. GBS do doors but not a roof... EDIT: just to say, this is for a half-hood and I see it is £295 now but they do also have an option of easy-in zips, which is cool.
  25. Sheesh - that isn't going to survive long with that sort of turnout Well done to the few from the club who got out there
