  1. Sorry but lots of unknown factors, First how much water do you need to heat each day? How is the water used ie; washing up clothes washing baths or showers? How many people in the house their ages and requiments? Boys use less water than girls when washing, boys have the water hotter than girls do. The list can go on so look at what you think the family usage is then double it and you should have a starting figure for your requirements. Without knowing how good your system heats water compared to an immersion heater in the tank would not like to say which would be the best and cheapest.
  2. Take the pinch bolt out use a good size screwdriver or tapered wedge to open the split slightly and you should find that it will come out quite easy. Regards Martin
  3. Hi Bob I take it that the bushes are worn in the struts if so and the chrome shafts are ok, then you should be able to get them rebushed at a local machine shop. Regards Martin

    Engine Numbers

My engine No. also starts with GS so it is March 1986. Regards Martin
  5. I do recall reading on here some years ago that if you fit large repair washers to both sides of the bottom shocker mounting boss, this will stop the shocker moving to much at the top and you may not need any spacers.
  6. I have to agree with Alan & Chris that this is not in any form any more than 10% complete and would not fetch your asking price, as it stands I feel that the trailer is worth more than the 2B sitting on top of it, sorry if that sounds harsh but that is the true fact. You may make more money be selling it as parts than as it stands. Regards Martin

    Front Ride Hight

What front suspension type have you got, is it sliding pillar or wishbone?
  8. Wot is it with this spelin on hear don't anybody cheque befour posting to the fourum? Now if you mean that you require a steering rack then that's a whole new ball game! I guess that a rack could be fitted the wrong way around with a bit of good engineering but not the best of ideas. It all depends on what would fit the bill, but it would be a bodge than a restoration in my eyes. I'll bet that there are plenty in the U.S.A.
  9. Well whiz pleased that you are on the mend, I am sure that someone on the forum in the past said that you were full of something but I could never put my finger on it! Pleased that I did't now.
  10. 'yanto' post='271006'] I feel i have to post as it was a disagreement with me and maca that lead to the subject of membership. 'yanto' post='271014'] Not to be argumentive but i didnt hijack craigs thread if you look at the post i was commended craig for what he done but some1 else was critizing his methods which i said something about. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ In reply to your posts I was trying to be helpful to Craig (Not critizing his methods.) Also I have had a reply from (WHIZ) about the posts and the deletion of the said posts and He had not ever heard of the paint before and said that you learn someting new. Yes I did suggest to you to become a payed up member along with many others on the forum, But if you dont feel the need to be a full member thats up to you. I am sorry if that got your back up as to what benefits you would gain as to being a community user. I personally am happy to pay the subcription fee to the club and feel that I get great value for my money. Regards Martin (maca)
  11. As a full paid up member here I did't join the club for what I could get out of it in benefits for myself, I joined to help and support the club and it's members in any way I can. I have helped many members with information and pictures of things I have made to assist them with how to go about doing a modification on their own car. And have gained so much free information from the forums that far out weighs the subcription fee. Martin

    Vin Plate

Just to add a twist to this topic, I purchased a VIN plate from GBSC stamped up to the year 2000 when the chassis was manufactured and incorpareted the year 2011 into the vin number after doing many mod's to the chassis before powder coating. So am I wrong in thinking that this would not be acceptable for IVA or DVLA or do I have to get another plate with the year of manufacture as 2013 when it all should be ready for IVA?

    Project 2B For Sale

Sorry to say but that is not a 2B in any shape or form, or is it worth the price you are asking.
  16. I belive that if you SORN your vehicle before the end of the month then you have taken it off the road so better to wait until the end of the month to do it.
  17. Hi David email and pictures sent to you hope it is all clear to you to do your mod's. Regards Martin
  18. The dizzy also drives the oil pump so don't just blank it off as you need to cut it up to modify for the drive gear from the cam to the oil pump. I have some pictures that I can send you but are to large to put on here at the moment. Regards Martin

    Donington Kit Car Show

Well for one short sighted idiot that attended the show and said what I saw along with others that felt of the same opinion then I am sorry that your attitude to us as members should be so negative. We all have attended shows in the past and enjoyed them. Yes I may have had bigger expectations than what I found and for the first show by the organizers it was ok. As I stated in my first post. 'Best part was the club stand had a good chat to a couple of members and brought an alternator bracket from one. Well done club stand good support from all members attending'.

    Donington Kit Car Show

Hi all I have to agree very poor show in general no auto jumble just think that for the first show after all the ups and downs of the developments that have been done, then the in field at the least should have had the long grass cut and made to look a lot better. To me it has been ruined to how it was hope that in can be improved for the future or I will not be going again, Best part was the club stand had a good chat to a couple of members and brought an alternator bracket from one. Well done club stand good support from all members attending. maca

    Newark Report

Hi all went with my friend in his tintop on Sunday, took an umbrella with me so kept the rain at bay. didn't have to use it that was good. Had a walk round the outside stalls, I think that what some had taken to sell I had thrown better things away to the scrap yard and the prices they where asking !!!!! Then went into the hall had a look around, brought a couple of dash switches from CBS for my long ongoing build of my 2B with all modes about done now just a case of put it all back together now so if the weather holds up for next year then you will see me on the RHO patch. By the time we had been around most things we found most of the members cars had gone, had a chat with a couple of members before they set off on their way home. Must say that I have been to far better shows at Newark over the last few years, But the weather is the big governing facture in how a show stands out. Martin

    What To Do?

If you are careful you should be able to undo the engine mounts and raise the engine with either a hoist or jack to clear the sump also check that no other parts are in the way stopping you from doing this. Regards maca.
