  1. Phew, thankfully this post is about tyres :D
  2. Or tripping out of his tent!!!
  3. Edge trim, tadpole bead??
  4. You don't need a screen for IVA, however if it's fitted there are more potential fail points. As DavidS said, cover the wiper motor spindles if fitted (with nut covers). With the screen removed, you don't have the glass marking problem, potential edge conflict with the screen supports etc. Mirrors can be positioned using the holes on the scuttle if required.
  5. A great weekend, thanks to everyone for making it the success it was. The weather during the days wasn't too shabby either, shame about the nighttime though!
  6. Have got a load of muffins & cup cakes for passing round & demolishing Saturday evening while enjoying a glass (or 2) of Ivan & Andreas charity beverage.
  7. Just make sure you don't mix your Babycham with too much Tom Yum Stephen!
  8. Hi Al, Spot on. I used to remove the tunnel top cover etc and then take the gear shift linkage off. I did consider drilling a hole from the underside to align with the nipple, but never got round to it, hence maintenance free UJ's! Cheers Al
  9. It might not be the cause of your vibration Bugsy, i'd check for play in your UJ's first. If memory serves, mine cost about £150ish - but could be wrong. Al
  10. Stephen, would you like a hand preparing?
  11. Bugsy, I was never totally happy with the original prop on mine - I had a bit of slack in the UJ at the gearbox end and felt it wasn't properly balanced. The UJ's were kept well greased. With that thing spinning at 1000's of rpm inches from me, I purchased a new one from Bailey Morris with sealed UJ bearings. The difference with the Bailey Morris prop was instant - the car felt far smoother.
  12. Waterproof & thermal shorts - work every time! But the kit stays in the garage when it's wet - i'm with maccavvy on that one
  13. Phil, As Ian & Carole above, we are aiming to be there early afternoon on Saturday so will help as required. See you all Saturday Al
  14. You can never have enough toys!
  15. Will be driving up on Saturday, but will be in a motorhome. So may see some of you enroute as you blast past us! If you get a toot, it'll probably be us chugging along
  16. Or come with a light sensor similar to auto lights to cut the power when ambient light drops to a pre-determined level

    St George's Day

Am toasting the good St George with a pint of fine English ale (or 2). Happy days.....
  18. I mounted mine on my tunnel side, but used the cut out in the floor. See attached, just another option...... Handbrake moved.doc Edit: Forgot to add, there are a couple of strengthening plates on the inside of the tunnel to prvent the tunnel from flexing when using the handbrake.
  19. Have just checked the garage, I was confusing myself earlier!! I have an old Mountney boss with a hexagonal column interface, but it has 100mm pcd for the Mountney wheel. I also have a 70mm pcd flat faced boss, you are welcome to that to see whether you can make an adaptor as Peter suggests above. Edit: Forgot to add pics 70mm PCD Boss.doc
  20. I have a spare boss in the garage, it's 70mm PCD to suit the Mountney wheel, it has a hexagonal fit as well. When I get home, i'll post a pic
  21. Common, common!! Prefer popular :D
  22. Hope the weather God's smile on you this week!
  23. Looks like there may well be be a gathering of Alan's this year.
  24. Are you getting a bit Krankie on us Bob?? Have a safe trip fella's
  25. On my original Rover ECU (now run a Zetec with Emerald), I disabled the immobiliser by cutting the wire to a pin and taking to earth, 13 could have been the lucky number. I was led to believe this pin was the earth switch from an inhibitor. It worked for mine without re-programming
