  1. There will only ever be one Shaft - a stand-in would only be a half-shaft
  2. Pedal box available again - it won't fit a Superspec.
  3. Pedal box in my other thread still available - it won't fit a Superspec.
  4. Yes, the loom is still for sale. Do you want to collect it from Stoneleigh?
  5. I know what the diff's worth so someone here can get a bargain if they need it. The diff and harness are Gaz's but I've put them on here for him because he puts helping club members out ahead of making a profit. If it doesn't sell on the forum, I'll give it a punt at Stoneleigh for more money. Of course someone could buy it here and then sell it on Ebay for a huge profit - but I'd like to think they wouldn't do that.
  6. More stuff from the garage surplus to requirements. Brand new wiring harness, looks like Autosparks as supplied by RHE for 2B's with Pinto and Sierra electrics. Has fuseboxes, connectors, alternator plug etc and rather a lot of wire. Selling this for someone else who didn't use it but it looks complete, I've got a copy of the Autosparks wiring colours and it looks pretty easy to follow. No doubt it could be adapted to a Zero, Zetec etc without much trouble and would be en excellent start for wiring a car (or a re-wire). £50 PROVISIONALLY SOLD TO COLIVENT Pair of Sierra rear dampers, kept my 2B out of hedges so obviously work ok. Genuine Motorcraft parts that were new when I built my car so done about 6k miles. Some surface rust but work fine. £5 Sierra diff 3.38 ratio. Turns nice and free and I pulled the back cover off to check the ratio and the gears look fine, no damage or chipped teeth. This is quite high geared so ideal for higher speed cruising. These are fetching £150 on Ebay so a bargain at just £50 NOW SOLD! I can take any of these parts to Stoneleigh this weekend or you can collect from Tamworth otherwise the Harness and diff will be on Ebay next week and the dampers will be in the bin.
  7. Yes Steve, meet also at the BP opposite the Styvechale Arms on the A45. Time there TBA but I would think around 930AM - we can firm up the times on Wednesday.
  8. Servo and Pedal Box Sold to Steve49er Ignition Provisionally Sold to jaimo pending a check it's suitable.
  9. Steve, yes, presume they'll fit a superspec. I can bring along on Wednesday if you want?
  10. Looks more finished than mine does at the moment!
  11. Meet at our usual venue for breakfast prior to driving to Stoneleigh next Sunday 1st May 2016 Breakfast is served from 8AM so meet around then. Location as in my signature below Menu Serving suggestion
  12. Having a bit of a clearout. Sierra Brake Servo and Master Cylinder - works fine, just swapping to internal pedal box. Master cylinder and reservoir were brand new (and pricey) when I built the car, servo cleaned and painted. Master cylinder is the smooth metal one, not the usual cast iron jobbie. Comes with IVA sticker, reservoir cap and harness connector. £20 SOLD Sierra Pedal Box, and Mounting Bracket. Throttle pedal modified to fit in a 2B, Substantial Stainless Steel mounting plate (bolts to the horizontal chassis plate on a 2B). Had a new clutch quadrant fitted. Comes with brake light switch. £20 STILL AVAILABLE Sierra Inductive Ignition Module and Coil. Comes with Coil Bracket, Module, Coil and Dizzy Connectors. Works perfectly. £15 PROVISIONALLY SOLD TO jaimo Not worth posting due to the weight so Collect from Tamworth or I can take to Stoneleigh next weekend. Have some other stuff as well which I'll post later in the week. PM me or give me a ring (number is in the magazine)
  13. Yes but you'll probably have to file a decent chamfer on the end of the bar to start threading it.
  14. At the Malt Shovel next Wednesday at 1900.
  15. I was planning on coming over but decided to spend another night in the garage instead. My winter mods seem to be severely over running - I'm going to be in the tin top at Stoneleigh and I'm weeks away from being finished.
  16. Next Wednesday, 27th April, 7pm onwards, Malt Shovel Pub, Coventry Road, Nr Stonebridge, Coventry, CV7 7HL https://maps.google....ingdom&t=m&z=15 Entrance to pub car park is off the A452 Chester Road heading North 50 yards from the island. See you there.
  17. There's only one way to settle this. BHP graphs.
  18. Did you have to rip someone a new @r5ehole?
  19. Refitted the washer last night, took me about 15 minutes so I've obviously developed a technique. I removed the spiral nut from the piston and used that together with a 15mm radiator tail and olive to compress the spring and then fitted the circlip with pliers and a bit or persuasion with a thin screwdriver. The thing than would make the job easier would be a really decent pair of circlip pliers where the front end of the pliers is about 50mm long but thin and robust so they don't flex. The set I've got have interchangeable tips, a short reach and flex like a b@5tard so aren't really much use.

    Tvr Chimaera

Glad it's not just me that does this.
  21. If you want to save yourself about 3 hours. Don't completely dismantle Sierra rear brake calipers when you overhaul them. The circlip on the retainer for the handbrake mechanism spring is nigh on impossible to re-fit. You can't easily compress the spring with the retainer and then fit the circlip. 35 years of working on cars has taught me not to read manuals - wish I had now, the Haynes manual warns of the difficulties and that there's a special too for the job (as always). First caliper took about 2 hours to do but I managed the second in about an hour. However the smugness was short lived as I looked at the shiny new caliper on the bench and then saw a washer that I'd omitted to fit under the spring. Guess what I'll be doing mostly tonight?

    Vin Plate

Yes, you'll probably struggle but that doesn't mean it's impossible and few worthwhile things are easy. People with little or no experience get cars through IVA, it's just a case of asking the right questions when you need to and taking it from there. Cost wise the IVA test is £450 ish and £90 for a re-test fee (highly likely), the remainder of the cost depends on how complete the kit is, and how creative you are sourcing parts. I take it this is a car that's never been on the road i.e. not a very early pre-SVA kit that was registered incorrectly?

    Very Interesting

It was a Robin Hood V5 - just the document not the car. Ideal for creating a ringer so understandably people don't want to see it for sale on Ebay.
  24. Yes, plenty solid enough, especially if you support the bottom of the column like this: http://nw.rhocar.org/supporting_the_steering_shaft.htm
