  1. with your car being lighter it is going to be a wild ride !!!! I.m still buzzing and I only did a couple of miles round the village
  2. 450cc injectors with variable fuel pressure fuel reg set at 4bar. Compression is standard bar a skimmed head to ensure it was flat on fitting. Research suggests Zetecs can take a max 11psi boost on standard internals. So it may well be close to the limits of the engine. Thursday will prove once and for all what it is actually producing.... but on todays drive I. M happy as cat with 2 pri#@* how it's feels
  3. It's a rebuilt stock motor with arp bolts and a very good Martin keenan exhaust.. produced 175bhp on the webers dcoes
  4. What ever it produces it's way more than before just by the way I had to change gear so quick. Didn't have to do that before, with the noise and acceleration it's a serious assault on the senses....
  5. Just couldn't resist and went for a drive, boost gauge was reading 12psi, checked gauge when I got home and it's out by 2psi. So if it is making 10psi it's going to be some good bhp and Nm. Ive not driven a car that pulls like this !! V8 westy, atomic not even close. 1st 2nd 3rd dissappear very quickly and it pulls 5th from very low speeds.... getting dyno.d Thursday can't wait....
  6. My bike engined atomic weighed in at around 340kg apparently and that really was a bare basic car...
  7. Nodiz now sold £650 for carbs
  8. I.m finished all bar the shouting, mind it wasn't really winter mods more spring summer winter mods.
  9. Might take mine once it's run in and proven reliable.
  10. If the beast is ready, and I. M not working I may venture over
  11. With a bit of thought, a bit of imagination and a lot of determination anything is possible... go for it, would be a cracking engine
  12. Now the charger project is running no longer need the webers and nodiz Pair of matched 5 progression hole 45dcoe webers correctly choked and jetted for a 2.0l zetec. On genuine weber manifold with genuine weber twin linkages. Complete with airfilters. Also a selection of chokes, tubes and jets. These carbs have done 10000miles from new. They stay in tune and balance, the sound is unbeatable ! My engine dyno.d at 175bhp on these. They even look the part. Proper carbs not cheapo bike carbs Nodiz pro ignition. Bluetooth connectivity, fully and easily mappable ecu for none injected engines. Currently mapped for my zetec and webers. In built coil drivers unlike mega jolt also no lead required to program unlike mega jolt. Dual Shift light output. Soft and hard cut limiter. Complete with zetec loom. Also included is a filter king regulator Fit this lot to your car add fuel and 12v and it will run your 2.0l zetec engine. £800

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/in-service-exhaust-emission-standards-for-road-vehiclesdownload the manual look at page 2. I was looking for Q plate info but couldn't find any. With all the changes to my car, emissions might be a problem... is it reg date 2001 engine date 1993 or visual only as I thought q plates were.
  15. Still like the monaro and down the line a vxr8 may be on the cards or if they ever hit my price band a Nissan gtr. But for now I. M building the car I could never afford to build when I started out.
  16. the v8 comment and who like it is fine, except for 1 thing I didn't want a v8. The money has been spent on buying the best of everything to make the car a1 and exactly what I dreamed of, by the time I paint it and add a slip diff it will be more still. Add it all up including buying the car and it's still less than building a basic car from scratch...
  17. ordered one now, but might be worth a trip and see what what they would charge and sell them if they come in cheap enough
  18. Saw them, raceline are cheaper thou
  19. System is bleep anyway, I used to drive 70k a year as a service engineer. Never had any incidents in the 15yrs I did that. 70k x 15yrs is over a million miles. That is more than most people do in a life time yet the person who does 3k a year still gets the same 1yr no claims bonus... whole system needs a total overhaul
  20. 1 step forward 2 steps back ! Now the stat housing has cracked. What's another £82 in the scheme of 4.5k
  21. can anyone tell me what ford had these as original fitment, i have one on my water rail that has decided to crack, it has a ford part no. 81BF8250AC but i cannot find them, yes burtons and raceline do them but i dont really want to spend another £70 on one of theres if i can help it
  22. No claim = no blame in my opinion both times I've done nothing wrong and been a victim of other people's errors
  23. Try russ at torquetune Ollerton he tuned my bike carb pinto really well.
  24. That time of year again, except this year is a bit of problem. I already had a no fault accident from 2014 and points from 2013, made no real differance to my premiums. 2016 was a bad year I had a fault claim and was hit by an uninsured moron, due to my dash cam i was proved not at fault and also it stuffed the moron who hit us ( he didn't stop) so this year's insurance has been a pig!!! Mx5 was 1st problem most of the company's offering classic or cherished wouldn't insure me on it, A plan quoted £1800 !! Went with a company called rcib they were cheapest at a shade under £300 but I wish I hadn't what a useless bunch of ass holes !! Avoid at all cost. Yesterday I needed to insure the kit for dyno day, the stylus has always been insured with a plan so rang them, no can do for the aforementioned mx5 issues, rang flux,no answer after a 1min so hung up, then tried together. rang them back in January and got a got quote of £170 with all of the above taken into account, rang them answered in under 1min went through the quote again changed some details ie value, agreed value supercharger 5000miles etc £200 all in they were a pleasure to deal with even waved credit card charge. Top marks together insurance...
  25. I've been using the pc680 for yrs, with no issue and that included powering a big 2 speed kenlowe fan. Only using a 40amp alt. Does suggest you have an issue somewhere else
