I had over fueling and could not find out why, I had a bike pump also. I needed smaller jets so I got a spare set of and drilled them out to 1.65mm and that cured it. Dont know why as some jets are going out to over 1.85mm and producing good results. I guess these bike carbs have "individual personalities". How come you cannot take the carbs off the inlet manifold??

Cheers Eric, Thats just jogged my memory to an episode of Mythbusters, they used tin foil and coka cola on an old American classic chrome bumper and it seemed to come up great.

Nothing is ever straight forward. Ive removed the old cam cover to find out i have the narrower type gasket as a replacement and also the new cover has no baffle in it (the old one looks welded in place so thats me out). Would I be ok to continue with what ive got or is it a no no. Thanks Andi

I have recently got a chrome pinto cam cover. It was a very mucky when I got it and also had some blue overspray and small rust spots. All these came off with a bit of carb cleaner and tons of buffing but the rust is back. Is there a product that would keep this at bay without turning the spots black or dulling the chrome? Thanks.

Hi Deano, It appears to be standard practice to mount the catch tank high up in the engine bay, having said that I dont think it would cause your problem.

I once asked this question, and was told even with a shortened sump the oil should still read on the originals of the dipstick. Someone will be along with a more solid answer. Are your breathers clear?

Hi, Im about to change my cam cover for a " posher" one and due to some horror stories Ive read on the web I want to replace the oil spray bar. Are there any tips or pitfalls to doing this or is it fairly straight forwards. Regards Andi
