Could be the mixture running a bit lean, in the past though whenever I have had popping/backfiring it has always been air leaking through the hoses (ie not making a good seal usually on the carb side as opposed to the runners side) Try spraying WD40 round the hose ends while its running, if the engine speeds up you have an air leak.

Done 4000 miles since i had the car, the engine had been rebuilt maybe 1000 miles before that. Im going to do an oil change but as the topic says does it pay to flush and what flush is recommended? Thanks in advance

Start by checking that there is no debris in the fuel line. If it is clear, check the vacuum pipes and hoses on the intake manifold and also check all grounding wires. Lol, agree. They are a nasty and cheap way of traffic management. At rush hour, its the quickest will survive on that particular roundabout.

Ok, maybe I should have stressed that both vans were actually on the junction equal distances away. I take the side of the argument that Mitch has stated because although it is a roundabout, surely in this scenario it should be treated like a crossroad??? And in the case where A was turning his right and B was turning his right, then it should be dicretionary.

Just to solve an argument, there is a mini roundabout near me that always gets my goat. It is understood clearly that you give way to traffic from the right. But in the case you can see in the picture, van A wants to go straight across and van B wants to turn right. Who has the right of way? Andi

Lol, I am into my 2nd week of a 10 week part time course in an introduction to welding. When I can manage to weld a straight line I could manage a delivery date of .........about April 2011

Ive seen these ramps some months ago and its these that have given me the inspiration to start a welding course at college. Andi

After snapping my accelerator cable I read an article on the web about making/modifying cables. I got a pushbike brake cable with a barrel end (for bike carbs) then got the old sierra swivel type nipple that joins the pedal and drilled out the old cable in the shaft, inserted the cable then filled it full of silver solder (Maplins) which really seems to have held it but time will tell. I was wondering if anyone else has tried this?

Im back from Norway this week (much much snow), ill be up for any of the aforementioned places or even a 20 mile Sunday pub venture.
