Keith,
Have you got drums or discs on the back?
If drums like mine I have drilled an access hole in the carrier for the lower shoe retaing pin.
Also I don't think I had notches on my 2008 kit there are some instructions on the kitspares site ( registration required) in the download section.
Finally mine required a shim on the passengers side to correct a misalignment which affects early chassis.

a couple of these might do the trick

I need some if I wear a big coat
I got a Koso DB02R for xmas and I am very pleased with it but had some trouble fitting the speed sensor over the weekend.
So I spoke to Jamie at their office who said someone would be phoning me back as the tech guy was at a show today.
20 mins later and I have just spoken to Jon at digital speedos he is very knowledgeable and helpful.
I think this is great service.

Good article here
http://www.burtonpow...her-system.html
Mine runs from crankcase breather to catch tank and to air via a little filter.
If I connect to rocker cover the tank fills with oil so I just use a vented cap.
Originally I ground off the bottom of the ford pcv valve and removed innards now I have a shiny piece from burtons.
I had to remove some coolant to fit a sensor and got a nasty shock.
on the right is the coolant straight out of the engine.
on top of the right is my magnet which is attracted to the sludge
on the left is a sample decanted from some left to settle over night.
There is no oil floating on the top and the black sludge is suspended in the coolant
I have removed the sludge using two methods filtering on the left and swirling magnets in plastic bags on the right.
I then took a sample of the sludge and heated it with a blow torch.
It did not burn but glowed orange and changed from black to orange.
Background facts/observations
1. coolant is carplan premium red
2. the radiator is aluminium as are the connecting hoses that are not rubber
3. I have no froth or creaminess in my oil
4. I have no excessive white smoke
5. There is no oil floating on the coolant prior to filtering.
6. I have not had any overheating problems or coolant loss through the overflow/expansion tank
7. This is the first coolant fill after engine stood dry (of coolant) for two years prior to fitting (I think I flushed it before fitting).
8. engine is 2.0 pinto
From my experiments I think its rust from the block and if I flush the system everything will be ok.
Does anyone agree or think its something else?
I'm not surprised it doesn't make money. Every other show at the showground gets advertised locally (there's a bike show on this weekend). The kit car show only gets adverts in kit car circles and we get in free.
It will be a shame if it does not happen but it looks like every weekend in june has something else on.
Slightly off topic.
In my youth I used to scuba dive, we dived (unofficially) a flooded quarry which was a well known dumping ground for stolen cars.
We decided to practice lifting objects with air bags and found an escort on its roof in about 15 m of water.
Bags attached and inflated some Wag decided to flick on the hazards as we lifted it to the surface.
They worked still worked!
Also mini wipers. Bought a kit off ebay that came with chrome covers and has oval rubber gaskets that go under the pillar covers to stop water ingress.
My 2.0 pinto hates normal unleaded and will not play nicely until it gets the good stuff. I wasted loads of time in the spring chasing ignition problems caused by my misguided frugality.

Resetting my ride height due to some settling after summer and now suffering brain freeze!
Do I set ride height with car fully loaded ie me in it or without me in it.
I have no rake with me in it!
I had same problem but I suspect the cause was very specific to my car. A spider had made its home in my switch and died there jamming the contacts. Might be worth stripping the switch to check for mumified corpses (it is nearly Halloween)
