  1. Kit car now back home, next steps to get the engine running and prep for IVA.
  2. Exhaust finished, I can not recommend John Ashley's exhaust enough fantastic workmanship and skill great job. Kept me informed through the process, sent pictures and always welcomed a visit to see progress.
  3. I visit Preston once a month I'll check the next date on Monday and get back to you.
  4. The kit car has left the home garage for the first time and is now in John Ashley's Exhaust (JAEX) in Birmingham. Very knowledgeable and experts in exhaust systems. They are building a complete bespoke manifold and system in stainless, visited yesterday to see progress. Have a look at the manifold, apologies for the picture quality taken on phone I am happy with the results so far. The manifold goes through the side panel rather than over it (personal preference).

    New Gauges

ETB set with electronic speedo for me.
  6. Jess, Just a short note to say thank you for lending me your trailer today, a true benefit of Rhocar membership. Car with garage for a few days for bespoke exhaust and manifold. Regards Mark
  7. Great video, should be on every apprentice scheme.
  8. Steve it is really a good book and i don't actually read that much. Whiz i always use bribery, conservatory = kitcar, holiday = major parts and kit car shows, new shoes = small part. Probably why it has taken so long to build.
  9. ETB gauges again they were very good, got mine last year for Christmas £250 with electronic speed pick up.
  10. Be careful letting the wife read books. I had a business management book a few years ago about getting people on your side, how to win the argument and how to get people to do what you want because they want too; typical tools and techniques stuff. A great book and it actually produced results. Now here comes the bad news.........one day wife was bored........she decide to read a book.......for some reason she picked........'How to win friends and influence people'............i came home to various rants (red headed scouser). How dare you! you have used this book on me and the kids. Still together, but now she knows when i am trying to manipulate others.

    What The Hell

Its amazing that the car will get any traction.

    It Lives!

Always a good sign the build is coming to the end, well done.
  13. Not much spare time, when I finally got in the garage started sticking trim on the exposed parts of the car and dented chassis with stamp kit.
  14. Stewart, Looking good when are you going to apply for IVA?

    Photo Shoot

Professional photo's make a difference, looks good.
  16. I'll ask in work tomorrow, we offer 'move my car' service and I'll ask the garage network team who is honest and reputable in the area. Regards Mark
  17. Similar to another post for the newbies we need full details of events especially local meetings (most do include full details) but occasionally we get 'Wednesday meet, normal place 7pm'. It will help to make new club members to feel welcome.
  18. I understand the feeling that 'old git racer' experience it was very similar on my first visit a 3 years ago. Also very similar at regional events, and with any group events outside of work and Rhocar. For some, it is easy to talk to anybody for others it is difficult. I spend a few nights a week working away from home and will talk to anybody in the bar, restaurants or car park it doesn't bother me. We need more members; maybe we as a club need to be more welcoming, the Rhocar lanyards was a good idea to show newbies who we are but how many actually put them on. Maybe the committee member's should wear a pink shell suit to stand out in the crowd....... only joking but something to let newbies know who you are.
  19. If for any reason Al doesn't make just cover postage and I will post them.
  20. Phil, I have a brand new set, that i didn't use on the Zero I will try to find them in the organised chaos in the garage. Can you wait a few weeks I am just finishing my dissertation every spare minute is needed.
  21. I am not saying this is right but both cylinders are at the rear, as advised by GBS and fellow members. It goes against the 20 years in the automotive industry but there's probably another hundred things on kit cars which is not the norm. I have attached some photos that may help. Brakes on donor, back plates after painting and right hand side rear kit car brakes. Regards Mark
  22. ETB gauges for me, I think they look better in a older looking car.
  23. I used a little piece of left over metal and a plastic chrome look number plate surround with a rubber around for sharp edges. Probably over kill but it never fall off.
  24. Thanks Jess I will look on the internet when I get home.
  25. Hi Jess, Assuming the scoop is plastic (abs) how did you paint it, what primer, what colour yellow is it. I have a black scoop that i want to fit at a later date but dubious about the finish. Any help appreciated.
