  1. Not sure if this will work as you have to be logged in to the Kitnet forum to read the thread https://kitnet.uk/community/threads/lands-end-to-john-o-groats-candidate-24-jun-2017.959/
  2. They say you can't polish a turd, but Terry needs something to keep him occupied, he could have it shining in no time!!

    Traction Control

I went on factory trip to Omex and they make things like shift lights, rev limiters and launch control systems. Not sure if anything like that would help?
  4. Not too far for me to have a day out on the Saturday. I will pop over and say hello

    Iva Tomorrow

That is a good result. As you say just a couple of minor things to sort. Well done.
  6. I went on a factory tour to Omex at the weekend and the main man said that ECUs like the mega squirt is not road legal as it is not type approved, so can only be used on track cars. I have no idea if that is true or not but it is worth thinking about.
  7. This is a fantastic idea and a great way to support Phil and Helen. Unfortunately I can't make the EOSB, is there any way to still contribute?
  8. It is a sad state of affairs. I work for an insurance company (and no, I won't say which one as any opinion I make here is purely my own) but the only way they can apply this type of premium 'loading' is if you tell them what date the policy is due for renewal. The system will calculate that against today's date and apply the increase. Try saying it is due in 2 or 3 weeks time then if you do take it out, change the effective date during the policy issue process. Also never tell them that you usually pay by monthly instalments as some insurers will penalise you for that as well.

    Congratulations

Wow, been off line so only just seen this. Many congratulations to you both

    Seats

Not sure if they fit or not, but you could try one of the GRP type seats as they sit you lower in the car and they are a lot more comfortable than they look. I have a Tillet in my Zero, but there are other options. I did 1800 miles in a week on the Scotland trip this year and had no issues at all.
  11. Bob, both extra tickets claimed so if you include them with mine I'll pass them on. Thanks.
  12. That is great Bob. If you could pencil me in for them, I'll post it on the local club Facebook page. I am sure I will get 2 takers.
  13. Hi Bob. I am not bothered about track time, but if no other RHOCaR members want the remaining 2 tickets, I can ask at the Westfield club meet tomorrow to see if anyone there is interested. Rather that than waste them
  14. The e-bay advert shows as ended already! That was very quick, just like the car!!
  15. Thanks Bob
  16. I wasn't able to go last year so I am not sure about the access. If I can get off the site and get away about 3.00pm without an issue, (I have to get home swap cars and be near Stratford by 6.00pm) then I would like the ticket. If getting out is an issue then I'll leave it for someone else who doesn't have the time constraints I have.
  17. A brilliant week. 1850 miles in total for me including an extra day in Wales. Great company on the trip and lots of laughs. Looking forward to doing it again, wherever we decide to go next time!
  18. yes, good for me.
  19. The next option up the motorway is Southwaite Services, but this would be a typical Moto Services place, so I am happy to meet at the Rooster. The address for sat nav is Ullswater Rd, Penrith, Cumbria CA11 7EH
  20. Bob. I won't be be leaving until after work so not until maybe 5.00pm so I will just have a dash up the M5/M6 and see you there. As for the rest of the plans, it all sounds good to me. Thanks Paul for the SatNav files, I will download them when I get home and add them to my Garmin.
  21. Malcolm. Firstly, there is no build manual but if you search Google you will find several build blogs that detail the build. It is not a hard build and if you have some basic skills, you should be OK. As for Ford vs Mazda, that is personal taste. If you go the Ford route, you could buy pretty much everything new so you could get a new registration, but don't be naive about the cost, you may not see much change from at least £15K! If you go the Mazda route, you can use a lot of the donor vehicle and get an age related plate, although it will not be the same one as the donor car. The cost will be a lot less. Hopefully others can add a bit more for you, but I would definitely recommend coming along to the National Kit Car Show at Stoneleigh at the start of May. You will get to see lots of cars and get chance to talk to the owners in more depth.
  22. Thank you Bob and Mo, my surrogate Mum and Dad
  23. Wow, that looks really nice
  24. The car looks really good Alex . Sorry to hear of the engine woes though
  25. The strip of lights came from Europa Spares
