  1. Park must be pin 5, it earth's when at park. If it is connected to 4 when motor runs the fuse will blow.
  2. I think your okay with your switch, in Knights link the switch is the same as yours just pin 3 is 4 on yours and pin 4 is 5 on your switch.
  3. What wiper are you using, lucas? You will have a park output from the wiper this will supply 12v via an internal switch in the motor to the park wire, connect this to pin 5 not wiper+.
  4. Its not a cracked exhaust manifold is it? Could be opening up when warm, rattle on overrun could be a bit of a backfire due to air leak.
  5. I'll pop over to this one, nice fun drive from Coventry. But only if you Leicester lot promise not to throw car parts at me again!
  6. I found the lamp to be around 1.2watt in the sierra dash. So I think you need something around 120 ohm, and at least 1.5 watt. The resistor in parallel with the Led won't dim the led the volt drop will be the same, like the light bulbs in your house they don't dim with more bulbs on?
  7. Damn, cant make it got a wedding to go to.
  8. The denso alts need an ignition feed. Is that still there?
  9. I had a similar knock which caused a major panic. Turned out to be the vac advance on the dizzy which was only connected to one inlet on twin 40s. Dizzy was advancing each inlet cycle on cylinder one. Disconnect to check should be easy enough. Hope it's this simple
  10. If I'd known that would have tried to catch it for you.:-)
  11. Wasn't too cold, warmed up when something tried to get through the wind screen on the A46. Car in front kicked up something large white and luckily plastic.
  12. I've had it apart and I cannot see a master spline, it is fully engaged with bolt in groove. Going from 20 to 30Nm reduces the play, seems like it needs more torque which I doubt an M8 bolt will take. Another thing the hole in the column is 8.5mm and an m8 bolt is 7.8mm, would fitting a 5/16 bolt help?
  13. Thanks for the replies, I'm going strip out down later to have a proper look. I'm sure the bolt is okay re the thread so I'm hoping it's just the ident. I straightened the steering wheel last year and the only way to keep the indicator cancel correct was to adjust at the rack. Will post later what I find.
  14. So the cars just passed mot, all good not quite? Noticed when I rock the steering there's a knock, I've narrowed it down to the column connection to the rack. There's no rotational play but there is play up and down, like the front bit of the spline is tight and the rear isn't. Almost like it's rocking on the pinch bolt, the pinch bolt is M8 with a smooth shank and is done up tight as I dare 30Nm. Any suggestions, is the bolt the right size, is there a fix known. I think the rack is RH supplied escort mk1/2 with longer arms and the column extension is the RH Sierra triangle to spline. Thanks

    Cranking Amps

No worries on mine with same battery, could be a timing issue?

    Rear Coilovers

I'd imagine it can't be any worse. Try and see what it's like through the suspension travel, taking the spring out and set min on the damper will make it easier.
  17. I'm using Caterham on the front of my 2B, don't know about rears but doubt they would fit. The Zimmers where 12.5" open, found a pair of Gaz shocks on EBay that where the same length and where advertised as Caterham.
  18. I'm using one these off a Capri, designed for pinto with a Coolman type rad works perfect. EBay number 151997423080
  19. Next week be the connector, they used to be insulation displacement connectors don't know if they still are. Imagine a row of tiny scotch locks?
  20. I guess the length would depend on your car really I doubt two are the same. The answer would be in the cable your taking off, lay them together and make the same. Or just swap the adjuster for a new one?
  21. I'm pretty sure that if you buy a kit from Ford you get the tool included. My brothers alternator belt snapped on his cmax outside Ford a couple of years ago he popped in and brought one as was there. A quick look on flea bay and you could get a kit with a tool for £36.
  22. I'm in, can someone book the sunshine.
  23. Found this as well if you want look at fault codes. EFI Fault codes.zip
  24. If anyone wants a high res colour version of the Electronics diagnostics pages for 2.0i or 2.9i EFi I have the original book. Pm me and I'll email them to you there about 7Mb, to big to post on here. Jez
