Hi all Am starting to tidy up swan jnr's body work on his kit. The body is fibreglass but I have read so many conflicting ways to go about it , I'm not sure which way to turn. Have rubbed down the gell coat with wet or dry, so do i use primer first or not. Some say yes , some no, some plastic primer, some ordinary primer. Thanks Swan

Hi Have just done a set for swan jnr. They were new wheels but have changed the colour to black. Gave them a rub down with wet and dry and used areosol paint. This was followed with more v fine wet/dry before applying clear laquer. Used 3 large cans paint and 1 laquer . Cost about £9, black from car show laquer from Halfords. Swan

Hi I use citric acid for kettle de-scaling. Imagine my surprise when sainsburys chemist dept would only sell me 2 tiny packets. It's used for mixing with drugs for what ever reason. swan Not acetic acid but citric (senior moment)

hi getting the viscose fan can be difficult , you will need a special cranked spanner to do it. there is a pic in the haynes book that gives the dimensions. and if i remember rightly it is a left hand thread. Have a spanner but finding it could be a problem. swan

hi got apair of the dixon sun glasses with prescription lenses last year. from them at stoneleigh. they really do keep the wind out of your eyes. and well worth the money. swan

hi, can anyone help with this as i cant seem to find an answer on the net. i have a top hung double glazed window that overnight seems to have stopped opening. when you turn the handle to the open position it appears that the bolt/bolts has released on the left hand side, but not on the right. i've tried taking the handle off and rotating the mechanism with a screwdriver to check there are no problems with the handle itself not properly fully rotating but to no avail. any bright ideas that dont involve me taking the whole lot out? regards pete
