  1. Love that! I'm painting my s7 white and hope it will look as good as that when done.
  2. Been linked to already http://www.rhocar.org/index.php?showtopic=38588&view=&hl=&fromsearch=1
  3. As Dan said. Looks like wheel will protrude with them fitted. Though that's with no tyre on so couldn't put weight on which may give me more flexibility. Will get tyres fitted and see.
  4. All I've got to say is that my camber correcting shims will be going on after IVA...
  5. The v5c carries this information doesn't it?

  8. My point was those people should be being told to buy the right ECU, not to buy the ECU they fancy and splash another £240 on this. As someone else posted about an Omex ECU thats £950 + this unit at £240, thats rather a lot of money when you can buy a quality ECU for half the price that does it all properly, even closed loop, all in one unit!
  9. Don't see what the market is for this? Surely you should just buy a suitable Ecu to start with instead of adding this to an alternative setup. An EC1 will give the required control for the VVT and work with OE sensors etc and can be bought for £600-700 inc all the required connectors and software for mapping.
  10. Biksz, I don't think our cars (series 1) need strengthening at the front like the others, I might be wrong though.
  11. This thread needs to have "aka the comprehensive zero build manual" added to the title!
  12. Lol, thanks Jez. I had seen someone do something similar which is why I tried it. I deliberately used the blue because I knew if it looked ok in the blue then doing it in black would be absolutely fine. Obviously the blue looks god awful and so I know I need to go a different route. Oh and the terminal blocks will all be removed once I know everything is right! Richard, I had considered doing that but didn't think it would look right, though it looks ok there, may go try it... Edit to add: Better?
  13. Don't know how you found the time! I have struggled to find enough time to work on the kit with just work and keeping swmbo happy. I'm glad that my thread has proven of interest to people, its not the best build or best thread, this put mine to shame!
  14. Managed to get a bit of time in the garage, not long, but enough to start ticking things off the list! First up I fitted the sparco quick release steering wheel boss, which I have to say is an awesome bit of kit, very happy with it! Finally got a bit the right size for cutting the holes in my cycle wings to allow me to fit the side repeaters, trial fitted and now ready to paint the cycle wings Also did some work tidying up the wiring to the headlights and running the cables for the side repeaters, the blue electrical tape will need to be changed at some point as will the terminal block it is currently doing a poor job of hiding, I did it to see how it would look and I'm not sure. How do people normally cover/hide the cables to the side repeaters in the cycle wing?? Just to add that the wiring to the cycle wing isn't attached yet and so won't sit how it is in the photo at the moment.
  15. Sorry that was meant to be slightly tongue in cheek!
  16. Another update on monies spent (I know, I know! I promise tomorrow will bring updates of progress!) I bought these 4 lovely pieces of GRP from Richard Stewart: Which go together a bit like this: and will eventually form the outer edges of my boot cover! Have had a quick look and I think it will be a really nice fit to the car as long as I don't make a complete hash of cutting the holes required to go around the roll bar!
  17. they don't go for THAT much, saw one on ebay that was fresh rebuilt for a shade under £2k
  18. Been reading each update wishing you'd post quicker ;-) Good read so far
  19. A roads around here are generally as quiet and small as the B roads in england! Especialliy the A4212, A543 and that particular stretch of A470. I've never had any traffic issues on that route and they are cracking roads.
  20. Roads here cannot be beaten! Route we did yesterday was: B4391 out of Llan Ffestiniog then left onto A4212 towards Bala then left onto A494 towards A5 left onto A5 towards Betws-y-coed then bear right onto B4501 (start of evo triangle) Left onto A543 Right onto A5 again Left onto A470 and you arrive back into Blaenau Ffestiniog Good 70 mile route and great roads.
  21. I know how you feel as often I am given a pass for a "full day" in the garage, which ends up being just a couple of hours because it turns out IO am needed for something else I've had a week off work and as lovely as being in Wales for the week has been I am secretly gutted I haven't been able to spend anytime working on the kit.
