  1. Pedro, it's as easy as any other action camera to use, you get a selection of mounts when you buy and it will also fit Go Pro mounts. I have a Go Pro suction mount from buying an original hero years ago but there are lots of others out there. Bob, the quality is very good for a £65 camera, you tube does no favours as it renders the film as you upload and ruins the quality. As Duck says it doesn't react as quickly to changes in light as the Go Pro but it's a fraction of the cost and by changing the exposure settings and white balance etc in the menu you can get very good footage. There is an SJ5000 out now, but it doesn't review very well at the moment and probably not worth the extra money, google techmoan and see his reviews of all sorts of action cams. I would have filmed longer, but as it was a nice morning there were pesky walkers everywhere getting into shot and as you can see in the film it started to snow again up in the hills so I headed home.
  2. Had a bit of a drive out into the Peak District earlier today and tried my hand at a bit of time lapse photography with the SJ4000 camera and a cooking timer. Stitched it all together in windows movie maker and for 20 minutes shooting you get 20 seconds of film.
  3. Hi Paul, nice looking car and with the optional gold titanium finish too. I'm only just down the road from you in Hazel Grove, then there's ECAM who's in Tytherington. There used to be guy called Richard with a 2B opposite the boat builders at Poynton marina and another in Bollington but I'm not sure if the last two still have their cars.
  4. you should be able to have it all on one map, when Dale at Bailey Performance mapped my engine he sorted out al the power side first then set about the cruising mapping which just involved holding the car at set speeds ie 30, 40, 50, 60 and 70mph and tuning the speed sites within the map for thoses speeds to 15 AFR or very slightly lean. These sites are only touched when holding a constant speed and when you're giving it some stick and going through the gears the map visits a whole different set of sites where the fuelling is all about power.
  5. They were going to run kitfest down at Castle Combe last year and pulled the plug on it six weeks before. Hopefully as they've tied it in with another event it should go ahead, but as it's an action day I think the focus will be mainly on the track side of things as that's where the money is going to come from for them. Might be worth getting a load of flyers for the end of season bash printed up and giving them out to all the club stands at Stoneleigh, as there's not a lot else on offer it could tempt a lot of people.
  6. Aren't MOT emissions done at tick over? You shouldn't need two maps, even a full balls out power map should be able to meet the emissions at tick over and then come on strong when you put your foot down. Having said that I do have a friendly tester, when I put the turbo engine in he said it should have a cat, to which I said, 'yes in an Astra it would have, but this car only needs to meet 3.5% CO and 1200ppm hydrocarbons' and his reply was that they only look for visible smoke because it's a kit - happy days.
  7. Looks very similar to the fuel injected pinto ignition system with the TFI module mounted on the aluminium heat sink
  8. In your position I would think again. Sorry and this is not intended as an insult, but having read your previous posts on this and other subjects I think you are at or maybe even past the extent of your knowledge and this is a safety critical part of the car you're dealing with. Fitting an after market pedal box doesn't give you the option to have a brake servo, which is what has led you to think about heading down this path. It will also ivolve some structural work to the car so that you get a good solid fixing of the box or you'll get flexing of panels and pipes which will give you poor feel and possible failure of the pipes. There are a few otions open to you that may provide a solution: 1 How much does the new manifold interfere with the existing servo? Can the servo, the cross bar and the existing pedal box be mounted any higher to give the clearance? 2 There are smaller servos available, measure your available space and get down to a breakers and see if you can find a servo and cylinder that will fit in the space, then you need to sort a fixing to the cross bar and new pipework 3 Fit a servo and cylinder on the bulkhead in front of the driver as is the case with most of these cars and attach to the Sierra pedals 4 Fit a cylinder without servo as above, the tandem one on this page is more than up to the job of stopping you without servo assistance 5 Fit a cylinder as above with a remote servo in the nosecone and pipe it up accordingly 6 Have whichever pipe/pipes on your new manifold are in the way reworked to clear the existing servo and manifold
  9. Have a look at bosch auxiliary water pumps, they fit them to the vauxhall turbo cars but there are also quite a few other manufacturers that fit them.
  10. Will do Barry, where abouts in Stockport are you?
  11. You should have 1 and 4 leads on one side of the coil pack and 2 and 3 on the other. If it's like that and not firing try swapping the leads to the opposite sides. Ignore any numbers marked on the coil pack as the plug may be wired differently with the nodiz.
  12. Chris already knew this was Flux's custom and practice from his experience a couple of years ago and yet still chose to insure with them last year, probably because the price was right. That was the opportunity to avoid the anger he's feeling now by going with a different company. It will all be there in the T&Cs that none of us bother to read because we're inherently lazy and that's what the companies are banking on.
  13. Sorry, but sending you a letter advising that your policy will be automatically renewed unless you contact the insurance company to instruct them otherwise isn't theft. If you then don't bother to respond to the renewal notice it isn't their fault or any sort of wrong doing. All you need to do is take the time to respond to the renewal notice and if you're concerned ask them for acknowledgement of your instructions in writing. At least then you'll have proof if they act contrary to your instructions. It amuses me that we will spend hundreds or thousands of pound trying to get more power or more bling and then expect to pay as little as possible on insurance and yet still get a 5 star service if we have a problem.
  14. The stray wire you have coming from pin 9 was probably for switch illumination when the lights were on. Put some heat shrink on it and tape it to the other one.

  16. Did you do anything with the carbs before fitting ie stripping, cleaning, rejetting? Could be dirt affecting floats and needle valves, perished, damaged or missing seals, loose screws on the bowls, too much fuel pressure. I had zx6 carbs on my red top, a facet cube pump,no pressure regulator, never had any leaks but I did strip and overhaul them all first.
  17. He's on there now Mitch
  18. I've just been flicking through video 15 on there and the young lad Carl who is helping fit the roof obviously moved on from RH Engineering to acting as he's a dead ringer for Spencer from Phoenix Nights!
  19. Here you go windscreen assembly is at 23 mins

  21. What about a rocker switch from a production car, mini etc as it'll have the right connections . Loads of different ones on ebay
  22. One indicator tell tale is just a case of a connection from the left to one side of the tell tale and a connection from the right to the other. No diodes or earth's required, one side earth's the other with just the required side flashing. No idea how it does it, Longboarder posted the tech on this a few years ago which you should be able to find if you search for it.

    Facet

Which facet pump? If it's a cube one with the bullet filter they can block and stop the fuel reaching the pump, take it off and run a drill straight through it then refit and see if it works.
  24. First picture was at Stafford a few years back with Mitch's old/Dave Perry's current 2B in the foreground, James Thomas' 2B with the bonnet up, Jason's next to that and I'm pretty certain that Big Lee and Barry's S7s are on the row behind. Can't tell looking at the picture on my phone.
  25. You don't need to scap your doner, you need to dispose of the unwanted parts ie the body. If you scrap it the car will cease to exist and therefore you can't have an age related plate based on the age of a car that doesn't exist. Once you've taken off all that you need contact a scrap dealer, explain that you want them to take the body away but that you need to keep the vin plates, chassis number and V5 to get your kit registered and hopefully they'll take it away. By the time you've taken off all you need for your kit such as engine, gearbox, brakes, steering, axles and hubs you'll have removed all nasty bits that can cause recycling problems. Offer them the shell for free, as that may tempt them to be more helpful
