    40gb Ide Hdd

I have a number of nearly new 40GB 3.5" IDE PC Disks. They were loaded with an OS for a Customer but never used. So have been cleaned and checked.. £10 each £5 p & p I am happy to pack up in multiples if a group wants to order together. Any problems and I will replace ( within reason). I am not a dealer, just clearing surplus bits left over from a job. Graham

    Dead Harddrive?

Id go with PSU. You have changed too many things at the same time. Basically built a new machine into an old case. Is the PSU man enough for the new mainboard / cpu combo - 20 an 24 pin connectors options ? I would suggest a 350 or even 400Watt PSU. Is your old RAM supported by the new board? What spec is the new HDD, sata 1 sata 2 ? have you got the little switch and lights cables from the front panel in the right places? Really too many variables. 6. Mine is not a superspec but a DOHC with MT75 Pictures as it goes on my web site. I had a prop shaft made , it has a slider at the gearbox end , no rubber doughnut ( I threw it away) and a flat plate drilled to match the coupling -- direct onto the box. Graham
  7. I drilled a hole through the hook on bit and brazed the end back on. 2B - discs all round. Graham

    Gearbox

Richard, It depends on what chassis you have, the 2B chassis needs to be modified to take the width of the MT75 --see www.gbowden.co.uk mods section. The bolts holes are the same so it fits and Ford block. Graham

    Dohc

Note that there is no inlet or exhaaust manifold attached to the engine. If it has a Efi I bet it wont fit under the bonnet !!!
  13. Tony Dont know about the Super Spec. Mine a 2B modified to take a DoHC. I would use the spring adjustment to set the hardness of ride, not the ride height. The ride height was set on mine by adjusting the top mounting point. Yes, I had to cut quite a lot of the roll over tubing away. More on one side that the other , in fact right up to the weld. The top mounting insert was slotted in and the height set to 7 ish -I then put a hole right through both and bolted it . Elwe made up a top mount that allowed the damper eye to fit into the top rollover tubing and did away with the extension supplied by RHE. Hope this helps. Graham

    Front Suspension

Lucky you Pete, Mine did 2000 miles and the eye broke off. The problem with fitting the dampers is how long they are. If you set it up as seems fit with the bottom wishbone level with the road, the mounting point could be too far inboard ( this resulys in bent wishbones and £160 out of pocket). To get the perfect set up you need to triangulate the front and get dampers the right length. Spring values seem to be a bit hit and miss - what the rating of the green springs is I hnever managed to work out , but I am now running 350Lb springs from mrelin Motorsport on 13" Protech damper units...... and the mounting point is as close to the lower ball joint as possible. Oh and 4 " movement .. Graham

    Gearbox Mount

Timbo I have used it for the MT75, it sits in the rubber of the original gearbox mount, allowing a little movement in all directions. You really need a flexible mount on the gearbox otherwise when tthe engine rotates etc the gearbox casing (or chassis) will take the strain.. The aluminium MT75 one cracks !! Graham

    Sva Test

Well done Vic, I did the Meon valley in the summer's heat on the round trip - newbury, poole, portsmouth, farnham, home . Was a very pleasant working day !!. The MT75 gearbox is still working fine . We can meet up in Basingstoke area in the Summer for an afternoon !!. Call in on me if you are going north in the 2B - Has it got a name yet? How long was the Northam SVA test - did you beat my 10 hrs to get through ? ( 7.5 first day, 2.5 on retest ) best wishes and happy hooding Graham

  22. Resolved:-- I have knocked 2 of the magnets off the prop, made sure the 2 now affixed are in the same polarity ( with another magnet ). Squared up the sensor so it is directly above and square to the magnets - spaced about 1/16 " away. Speedo with only 2 was more accurate -ok to 70 and then bashed about. After squaring -- reads smooth as you like to well over 100, up and down. The table supplied with the guage does not have a setting listed for every calculated figure. I worked out that a value of 13 was for every binary switch -so got it very accurate. Used the Sppedcalc program to get the wheel diameter figure ---very useful. The guage now agrees with the figures supplied by Speedcalc. A happy bunny thanks all Graham
  23. Smash them out and weld solid plates across the top. Bolts up lovely .. I used a 20mm allen headed bolt about 50mm long -- did it up tight !! No spike out the bottom to dig holes in the road.!! Ground the head down to leave about 8mm for the key. Seat goes over it , with no problems. Graham
