But I would imagine Ill be doing at least one Wales trip with an overnight stay. Stoneleigh (of course) Newark (of course) plenty of local Staffs / Shrops / Midlands areas.

Italian Alps in May for a week!! Woohooo, very excited - been trying to get to the Alps ever since I built my car.

Wales In September (4 days).

Stoneleigh and various other runs plus I usually commute to work in my kit as well, when it's in one piece, which isn't often - just today, a spring on one of my wiper arms broke 🙄 (luckily on the passenger side as it was raining this morning).

C'mon, where's your spirit of adventure? 😊

Admittedly, that's 6 hours on the M6 which , I agree, would be Hell. But, take an extra day off, wander down through the Lakes and Peak District, camping overnight - now THAT would be a good road trip 😉

Italy for a whole week is great -- all the mountain passes will not disappoint. Hope you have 3/4 days each side of that for getting down there.

2014 when our group had a hotel to ourselves in northern Italy -- time flies -- very good memories.

I will keep an eye on the weather

If you have to worry about the weather, road trips are always going to be tricky. You know what this country is like - it's possible to get 4 seasons in one day and the weather forecasts are dodgy anything more than a day or 2 in advance.

Sort out decent wet weather gear, assume the worst and just set off... I saw a beautiful kit on FB and the guy said he'd done 16 (sixteen) miles in the last year!! I just cannot see the point of that....

Every year I keep saying I must use the kit car more, slowly increasing year on year but never enough.

Shows are OK for socialising not driving, Hoodstock and EOSB is great because we always have a great drive.

Wales trip has always been the best for me, the drive there meeting people on route and then the drives over the weekend.

Going to work via the short route and returning via a long varied route during good weather is OK.
