Just to let everyone know that there is a kit car article in the money section of tomorrow's Telegraph newspaper, both online & hard copy.  I believe it's mainly about the financial aspects of kit car building and ownership, but don't quote me on that 🤔.

I had a chat with Joe Wright who's doing the article so hopefully the club will get a mention and maybe a photo, although, if I'm in the photo it might frighten people off !!

I don't know exactly what's is in the article but they say any publicity is good publicity don't they ?

Newsflash, I've just had an email - it should be online tomorrow but might not make the paper until next week !

Thanks Derek,  I was just going to post the link but you've beaten me to it 🤪.

I'm not sure why there is only pictures of me - presumably nobody else is as handsome  .............   OK, maybe they all said no !

As you say, it makes some good points about kit cars and we've got a mention in a national newspaper which can only be good.

Unusally for the press, this quite a good artcle and factually correct.  Well done Steve.   I's just a shame that 90% of the comments (so far) are discussing the petrol/diesl ban and not talking about kit cars.

Unfortunately behind a paywall so can't read it

Don't know if it's something you've said 🤪 but I've tried the link on a couple of devices and it just lets me view it.

If you (or anybody else) still has problems let me know and I'll see what I can do.

Strangely enough I've just gone back & the paywall is no longer there, so not sure myself, I'm 99.99% certain I didn't dream it, but as I lose spanners mid job as if they are going out of fashion anything is possible.

I wanted to go back & check this before replying but can't, Stuart Mills of MEV (old owner) tried to produce an electric kit, he in fact built a prototype, but as far as I know the DVLA/DSA/VOSA refused to test it as it would have to be type approved which cost well into 6 figures. Moving the kitcar business into EV will be very difficult, although I personally don't think EV is the answer, although that depends on the question you ask I suppose.

There's something odd going on - I got this message a couple of days ago, closed the page  and then went back to it a couple of minutes later and could just read it.  I wonder if it just pops up now and again ???
